A house is defined as a structure that serving as a dwelling for one or more persons, especially for a

family. House is very important to all humans and animals. It refers as shelter to every human being.

It gives protection from sun and rain. In other context, house has the same meaning as dwelling,

residence, abode, home, lodging and accommodation. The social unit that lives in a house is known

as household. As it purpose as a shelter and gives protection to human, the quality and robustness of

a house is a must. This is because people live in house for a long time period and there is a need in

getting a good house to live in.

this modern world, shelter in the form of house has become as one of the important component of

economic sector. In Malaysia, housing is a crucial issue because there are many pro and cons in

housing provision. The government has set up regulation, guidelines and standard for housing

houses, inclusive of houses for the lower income group will be constructed according to the

acceptable standard. With these regulations, guidelines and standard, all of income group of people

A house in an urban area would be more expensive rather than a house in suburban area. This is due

to good accessibility and high-taste of living which can bring people to demand more housing in the

urban area. When the demand increase and the supply remains the same, the price will increase. At

this time, many problems will occur. For example, some developer would put a higher price to

maximize the profits. They acting like everyone can afford to buy those houses and are willing to buy

regardless of price as long as the location of the house is near or in urban areas.

20 years ago, people bought houses outside the urban area and felt like they people buy houses in

rural areas and feel they have suffered losses due to factors of distance and accessibility to the city

center. Today, those people are lucky because within these 20 years, the city has expanded beyond

the area of suburban and become the urban area. Location such as Kajang, Damansara and Puchong

has become a lot more than a town centre. People who bought houses in the area would have agood asset and the house that they bought becoming more worth it.

For the low-income group, own a home might be a problem for them. This is because the low-income

group facing a situation where the financial institution having difficulties to deal for housing loans for

this group. The low-income group has less security of employment which means their work situation

is fragile and can be terminate from work at any time. Other than that, low living standards make the

financial institution do a careful evaluation because they are concerned that cannot afford to complete

the repayment of loan. The financial institution will be facing loss and because of that, they think they

should not give their loan for the low-income group.

Housing sector is an important sector and become one of the major sectors in Malaysia. It helps to boost

the economy by attracting investors to launch housing projects that later sold and earn the profits.

Housing sector generate income for the country by the demand of houses from the population. In order

to increase a quality of living, people need to own a home. A home is more than just a shelter but also as

an asset in the long term period.
