PETER SMITHChairman and CEO

Trained as a physicist at the University of Sheffield, Peter has been closely involved in precision engineering, electronics design and manufacturing throughout his career.

Peter has worked in engineering, sales, business development and senior management roles in a range of global industries including Aerospace, Defence, Radio Communications and Medical.

He has applied his entrepreneurial skills for the last 15 years through management buy-ins, the establishment of start-up businesses and ultimately the establishment of Nasmyth Group.

He was voted Entrepreneur Of The Year in the Midlands final of the renowned EY Engineering Awards in 2013 and has been a member of the Boards of public and private companies both in the UK and internationally.

SIMON BEECHDivisional Managing Director

Simon started his career with Lucas Industries and worked in both the Automotive and Aerospace sectors, gaining functional experience in Marketing, Business Development, HR and Programme Management.

He joined Bulwell Precision Engineers in 2000 as Managing Director and steered it from being a family SME into a supply chain company. In 2003, Peter Smith asked him to join in the acquisition of the Bulwell business and become part of the Nasmyth Group.

Now, in addition to managing a number of Nasmyth businesses and joint ventures, Simon also works on the development of the Group, including new acquisitions.

Simon is actively involved in a number of industry groups including ADS and AMC and is Vice Chairman of the EEF East Midlands Advisory Board and a past Vice Chairman of the MAA Board.

Simon has a BSc and an MBA.
