Thesis
The University of Padua, founded in 1222 as a bastion for academic freedom, touts the
motto “Liberty of Padua, universally and for all.” With strong connections to the past, the school looks to prepare its students for
future excellence through teacher-centered learning, all within a beautiful
physical setting.

Personal connection to and interest in history and architecture
Early construction techniques of domed roof lines, high arches, and ornate details
Galileo Galilee and Nicolas Copernicus – Wow!

Misplaced in the overall look and feel of the school

Teacher-Centered Learning
Universita degli Studi di Padova. University of Padua, 2014. Web. 25 Nov. 2014.
My Response to the ImagesTeacher-Centered Learning
No images of the classrooms Professors photographed individually rather
than interacting with students Professors look happy, pensive, and/or active University might not value student-centered
learning and strong student-teacher relationships
Beautiful Physical Setting
The city of Padua is located about 20 miles west of Venice. The university buildings blend in with the city’s other historic buildings, making all of them accessible to students and residents alike.
