Many Supports, Many SuccessesNorthview takes care of its students. New Canadians are supportedby our Settlement (SEPT) workers and participate in our NewcomerOrientation Week program.  Our support system includes caringteachers and support staff as well as endless opportunities forstudents such as peer mentoring/tutoring, homework help, clubs,councils, and athletic events.

Involved Parents, Involved CommunityParents and community members have been actively involved withNorthview to provide valuable support, input and suggestions.Opportunities to participate include the School Council,Parent-Teacher Interviews, OCAS/OUAC InformationNight, Curriculum Night,  Course Selection Night and many, manymore.  We are also pleased to be home of the North York HarvestFood Bank.

Student Life - Where You Belong

Throughout the academic school year Northview studentshave over 100 groups to join and become active members ofthe Northview Heights community: clubs, intramural teams,student groups, athletic teams, student councils,  and schoolproductions. The Multicultural Assembly, Arts Everywhere,Drama Productions, Northview Environmental Action Team(N.E.A.T.), Phoenix Athletic Council, Student ActivityCouncil, Home Form Representative Assembly, and Me toWe Club are just some student clubs we have that offerstudents many opportunities to participate and/or take aleadership role in providing activities and events for thestudent body.

Parent and Community Engagement

Settlement and Education Partnerships in Toronto workers holdinformation meetings with parents. Russian, Korean, Farsi, Tagalogand Mandarin speaking parents meet to discuss a variety of topicsfor newly arrived families. Student services shares strategies withnew Canadian students and parents on topics such as "How tosucceed in high school" and "Post secondary opportunities forNorthview graduates".Other initiatives include:Proactive initiatives with Toronto PoliceServices, School Council meetings, Parent-Teacher interviews eachsemester,  Curriculum Nights, Course Selection Night, North YorkHarvest Food Bank, UNISON Community Health Centre, and ArtsEverywhere.
