 Page No Retreat Hitler’s orders to dig in and not to give ground leave his soldiers ew options to stem the tide o the advancing Red Army. Te ront-line troops can only hedgehog their positions, ght where they stand, obeying the ‘No Retreat’ order, and pray or a mobile orce to counterattack and throw the Soviets back. No Retreat uses the Ambush , Defensive Battle, Prepared Positions, and Reserves special rules.  Your Orders  Attacker Te enemy has been beaten, but not deeated. Tey have allen back to temporary deensive positions.  You must deeat them here and orce them to retreat. Once they have been pushed out o this position, the road is open and our mobile troops can surround and destroy them. Defender Tings look bad, but the order has come to hold at all cost. Your orces are outnumbered and your deences barely dug, but you must hold until help arrives. I you can stop the enemy here, we will be able to re-establish the ront line and prepare or a counterattack. Tere can be no retreat! Preparing For Battle Determine the attacker and deender using the Deensive Battle special rule. Te deending player chooses which short table end they will deploy in. Starting with the deender, both players now place one objective each in the deender’s end o the table. Te objectives must be at least 8”/20cm rom the centre line o the table, and may not be placed within 8”/20cm o any table edge. Next the deending player nominates at least hal o their platoons to be held of the table in Reserve at the start o the game. Ten the deender nominates one o the remaining platoons to be held in Ambush. Finally, they deploy the rest o their platoons in their hal o the table. Te attacker deploys their entire orce in their hal o the table at least 16”/40cm rom the table centre line. Both players now place their Independent teams in their deployment areas starting with the deending player. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.
