I want to thank everyone for the warm welcome I have received so far. I have met a lot of great people and look forward to meeting a lot more!
5 is going to be a great year. Recently, we have launched our new membership strategy and we are very excited about the response we have received so far. We have added over 7 new golf members just in the first few weeks. We cannot take our foot off of the gas now so let’s push hard to get as many of your friends to join you in membership here at ArrowCreek. Golf season is right around the corner and we are getting excited for the upcoming season.
More members = more fun!!I would also like to express my thanks to all of the members who have volunteered their time to assist in making the club a fun and successful place. We have had member volunteers help decorate the club for the holidays, assist in planning the chili cook-off and other social events all the way to helping clean and organize the cart barn. There is no doubt that our membership is very passionate about their club and with that passion I know we will be successful in our membership efforts.
Thank you all for being members andI look forward to working with you for a long time!

As spring approaches and warmer weather brings
more of you out to enjoy our two fabulous courses,
I’d like to cover some basics of golf etiquette and
your responsibilities as a Member of The Club at
ArrowCreek.
Prior to teeing off, I ask that Members who do not
store their clubs please allow our outside service
personnel to retrieve your clubs by pulling your car
to the bag drop area. This allows the outside
services staff to handle your golf bag while main-
taining their assigned position. We will run into the
parking lot to help you with your bag, but prefer if
you will help us streamline the operation by bring-
ing your car to us. This allows us to be better pre-
pared to meet member needs.
Please use the trash receptacles on the course or
leave the trash in the golf cart for disposal. This
includes cigarette/cigar butts; please do not discard
them on the golf course.
Fix one ball mark per green whether it is yours or
not. The best players in the world average less than
14 greens per round. If we fix 18 ball marks, one on each green we will never have a ball mark issue at
ArrowCreek.
When you arrive, always check in at the Golf Shop.
Aside from wanting to greet you, we appreciate you
letting us know whether you would like to practice
or play. In case of an emergency we will know
where you are.
Always check with the Golf Starter on the Driving
Range prior to heading to either golf course. The
Starter is the “quarterback” of the days play. They
will provide current information about the course
and cart rules as well as assure an even starting
interval between groups.
Pace of play is one of the major factors that deter-
mine the level of enjoyment golfers receive from
playing golf.
Although all members have a right to any tee time,
an honest evaluation on one’s pace of play should
predicate when a member reserves certain tee
times. Members, along with club management, must
work together to ensure an acceptable pace for
everyone. Inexperienced players and golfers who
prefer a slower pace are encouraged to play golf
during periods when they will not impact faster or
more experienced groups.
Dear ArrowCreek MemberDear ArrowCreek Member
GolfGolf
...
Jeremy Budge
Members who enjoy a slower pace should reserve tee times later in the mornings. Early morning groups are expected to complete their round well under the course time par of
4 hours and 15 minutes.
Should this pace be uncomfortable, late morning or afternoon golf reservations will be recommended. Your group is considered out of position and behind pace if you have fallen behind your “tee time” pace. Or, you have an entire par three or par four open ahead, or, on a par five, you are on the tee and the group ahead is already on the green.
Pace of Play Tips1. Keep an extra ball in your pocket at all times.
2. Allow faster groups to play through.
3. When riding, drop your cart partner at their ball and proceed to your ball. Waiting for them to play and then proceeding to your ball, wastes a lot of time.
4. Bring extra clubs to your ball. You may change your strategy on how you would like to play your shot and this will save you from walking back to your cart.
5. Record your score on the next tee. Do not loiter around the green.
6. Prepare for your shots while others are playing theirs.
Be ready when it is your turn to hit
I know that pace of play is a hot topic at most Clubs. With your help and understanding, we will educate all members quickly and in a positive manner to improve the enjoyment level of your rounds at ArrowCreek.
Golf carts can cause a significant amount of damage to a golf course especially during shoulder seasons when the course may be excessively wet or dry. This is why we only allow two carts per foursome. Even for private cart users. If you arrive to the tee and you have an extra cart in your group, leave it and we will retrieve it. Please drive on the paths as much as possible and access your ball in the fairway using the 90-degree rule. Please avoid stressed or damp areas and stay away from greens and approaches (a minimum of 30 yards even for handicap card carriers). Drive your cart on healthy lush turf. If the turf is green and healthy, it is okay to drive on it. If the turf is shiny, matted down or excessively wet, please stay clear. Try not to follow paths created by other cart traffic.
Divots! Well-struck golf shots produce divots. We as golfers need to fill our divots with sand and seed. I know most golfers have very good intentions and want to fill all of their divots. Sometimes your cart partner may leave you at your ball to hit a shot without your sand and seed bottle. Please think of your sand and seed bottle as your fifteenth club. Anytime you select a club to hit a full shot, take your sand and seed with you. This practice will significantly help our course!
Thank you for taking the time to read this etiquette information. We are looking forward to a fun filled season.

A very smart man once told me to not fear change, that change is almost always for the good. Our crew and myself are thrilled with the changes that are happening. The hardest part for us all is our way of thinking and approaching the care of our golf courses back to ' we want to be the best ', so how do we get there again. To say that I'm excited about the upcoming season, would be an under-statement. I'm excited to finally have the resources and support from our new owners, THE FRIENDS OF ARROWCREEK and management company, Arnold Palmer Golf to bring ARROWCREEK
back to it's gloryNow, we'll be able to give the turf and soil the nutrients and treatments they need in order to grow quality turf without bare spots in fairways and moss on the greens. We'll have the crew to keep the bunkers in top shape, and have a mowing schedule that keeps the turf groomed on a daily basis the way it should be. We'll be able to fix irrigation sprinkler heads that are not functioning properly, and have the correct amount of pumps working to properly water the golf courses in a timely and effi-cient manner. Basic turfgrass needs, like applied nitrogen to fairways,. for the past few years has been zero to less than a pound per year, when it should be to pounds per year. Now that will change.
The resurrection of our fertigation/ injection system to our irrigation will do wonders for improving our soils. That, in itself, is worthy of great excitement.
One change that we were not prepared for was the loss of our chocolate lab, Madison. We lost her on November nd after a stroke. She was months shy of years old. So my wife and I thought it over a good long while, maybe a day and a half, and decided we needed a Labrador in our lives, and Arrowcreek needed one too. So the timing was right with Mountain High Labradors having a runt of a litter born on Halloween for sale, and now we have Maggie with us to grow with the changes. Hope you all can meet her.
March is transition month with the turning on of our irrigation system, bringing back seasonal employees, and aeration of the courses. We will be busy.
See you on the course!

Wow! What a fun transition we all have had at the club. A new year, a new club and a new outlook for the future here at ArrowCreek! I’m excited to be a part of it as much as you all are!
We have had some great events thus far in 5. Starting the year off with the Chili Cook Off and Line Dancing event, we had a sold out crowd! Not only did we have a great turnout, we crowned this year’s best chili in ArrowCreek, King George’s Revenge! Mr. Heaven took the Gold home with his tasty concoction. A very special thank you to all chefs who participated in the event as we appreciated all the yummy recipes that made the event so wonderful!
February was filled with the nothing but L-O-V-E! Valentines Dinner made for a special event here at the club this year. Over 5 people attended the dinner. It was an intimate evening with great company and complimentary roses for all the ladies who joined us. We also had our first wedding of the season in February on the th! A special couple flying in from Belize found us on the web and made the decision that ArrowCreek had the most spectacular view in all of Reno. We were happy to host them and glad that they decided on ArrowCreek for their memorable day.
As some of you may have heard we have initiated a new monthly event here at the club that highlights you, the Member! We are hosting monthly T*BAM Events (Thank You for Being a Member) for all of our members to say thank you for being apart of the club and family of ARROWCREEK. The last two events were so fun that I can’t wait for the next one! Plus, you can’t beat complimentary drinks and appetizers, so make sure you swing by the club for the next one on
March 6th!

ARROWCREEK is growing its membership and with that we are looking forward to creating a fun and exciting season with new friends to compliment the friends that we have so dearly enjoyed over the years. With new members and the renewed excitement that our club is experiencing, we see our ladies club becoming
the most vibrant and exceptional ladies group in Northern Nevada.
As in the past, there are options for our ladies to enjoy ARROWCREEK.
The first option is the AC9ers, which provides a wonderful place for our members to enjoy old and new friendships and golf in a relaxed and social atmosphere.
The second option is for our 8 Holers, which has been designed to provide an enjoyable but competitive environment for our more accomplished golfers. This provides the challenges of tournament play while keeping it fun and supportive.
On Opening Day April 28th, we have a variety of exciting activities which will include an important rules clinic for both the AC9ers and the 8 Holers. What is different and exciting about
the rules clinic is that it will be conducted on the course which will help the rules come to life in real world settings. The clinic will be followed by a 9 hole scramble for both the AC9ers and the 8 Holers together, which will be followed by a hosted lunch in the club house. ( 4 45)
We are so excited about the launch of a new era of golf at ArrowCreek for the ACLGC.

A group of more than 30 ArrowCreek members joined other Reno golfers on January 7th to make up a full planeload headed to Puerto Vallarta. The non-stop flight arrived in Mexico in 3 ½ hours. Buses whisked us to our beautiful and spacious condos, the all-inclusive Marival Residences & World Spa in Riviera Nayarit, Nuevo Vallarta. After check-in and a fruity cocktail it was time for a swim in the pool or the sea, or a soothing soak in the hot tub
before joining the welcome cocktail party. We were
introduced to the staff and given important instruc-tions on golf, tours and resort amenities. Then, more food and drinks and off to bed to rest up for day two, a day of beach,
individual golf rounds, a swim with sea lions, a catama-
ran cruise, zip-lining or various local tours.
On day three the golfers woke up early to play at nearby El Tigre Golf Club where live tigers live in cages on the course! The afternoons were for enjoy-ing the resort’s amenities, a massage, tennis, cocktails in the pool or hot tub and of course, more eating.
Day four was for individual adventures followed by the next day’s early morning trip to Vista Vallarta Golf Club. The ladies and men played in their own
foursomes on the Niklaus course,
which was carved out of
the jungle in the hills above Puerto Vallarta with lovely ocean
views.
Day six found many of our golfers at the Norman designed Litibu Golf Course, with ocean holes that reminded them of Hawaii. On our final full day in Mexico we returned to Vista Vallarta Golf Club to play the Weiskopf course featuring deep ravines, dense jungle and lots of water.
All too quickly our week of fun and sun came to an end with a final good-bye Mexican buffet and dancing by the pool. The extra weight we gained from all the delicious food and drink was most likely offset by the loss of many golf balls allowing the plane to take off without a struggle. Unfortunately Reno’s newly upgraded international terminal wasn’t up to the task yet, making our arrival home the hardest part of the trip. Many of us are already talking about our return next year. The trip was organized by Barney Bell of Washoe Golf Course through ILT Golf Vacations.
