N imbusThe Little Rain Cloud
Along his journeys, Nimbus the Little Rain Cloud, always treasures
his gift of producing water and spreading it across the world.
But, when he tries to help with his special gift, things actually seem to
get worse. He begins to wonder if his gift isn’t so special after all. As he
feels unwanted, he drifts away from causing anymore damage.
During his absence, drought occurs and people realize
they took him for granted and ask for his help.

Thanks to my uncle Cory, who always gave me advice, taught me to chase my dreams
and told me there are endless possibilities out there. He told me, “You won’t work a
day in your life, if you do what you love.” That’s exactly what I’m doing…what I love!
Thanks to my dad who taught me to “draw” outside the lines. He told
me I could create anything I want in life, I just have to follow through
and it’s only a matter of time until I get it. Thanks for everything!

Once upon a time, long, ago, lived a little rain cloud named, Nimbus.
He lived with his friends and family high up in the sky.

They travelled all around the world to rain on the land so the plants,
people, and animals could stay hydrated and live a long happy life.
But there came a time when the little clouds had to leave
their families so they could be independent.

At fi rst, Nimbus was sad because he missed his family and friends. But then he
made new friends and realized he might have a family of his own one day.

Nimbus explored all around the world, sprinkling water over the
land. But one day he noticed something was wrong.
He saw rows of food sprouting and thought, “Oh man, they
must be thirsty. I will sprinkle water on it.”
He heard a faint echo in the distance.
A farmer ran out to the fi eld yelling, “Oh no! I already watered the
crops today. Now they are going to drown! Go rain! Go!”

So Nimbus fl ew away leaving nothing but his tears behind him.
While Nimbus searched for a place to be appreciated,
he noticed two kids playing beneath him.
"I wish it wasn’t so hot today, Liam,” said Zoey.
Liam nodded in agreement. Nimbus grinned in excitement. He sprinkled
down his rain to cool them off so they could play happily.
But the kids didn’t look happy at all.

"Now we can’t play outside because it’s raining,” cried Liam.
"I know, we can sing a song to get rid of it, so it’s sunny again,” suggested Zoey.

"Rain, rain go away, come again just not today,” they sang. “Rain,
rain go away, come again just not today,” they repeated.
The more they sang, the more Nimbus felt unwanted. Nimbus
left and the children cheered as the sun took his place.

Since the children and the farmer didn’t want him there, he decided
to go to the forest where he was always welcomed.
There he saw Native Americans surrounding burning fl ames.
"Fire!” Nimbus shouted.
Then he poured down his rain, putting out the fi re. He thought the
natives would be thankful, but instead they were furious.
"No! It took us so long to make this fi re! Now how are we going to cook
our food and keep the tribe warm tonight?” the chief groaned.

So Nimbus left before he could ruin anything else.
"Nobody wants me,” he pouted.
So Nimbus went far away into a cave since nobody needed him anymore.
Nimbus wept as he watched the stars dance at night and while
the moon chased after the sun day after day. Meanwhile, he fed
off the memories of bringing happiness to the world.

In the distance, the brother and sister were excited to play in the lake,
but when they reached their destination, they realized it was gone!
"Where’s all the water?” asked Liam
"It must have dried up,” guessed Zoey.

"Well, if we wished it away, we could wish it back,” said Liam.
In no time, they were singing, “Rain! Rain! Come again!” They sang repetitively.

"We’re sorry rain for wishing you away!” they apologized,
realizing they took it for granted.
The farmer had some problems of his own. When he
reached his crops, he realized they were wilting.

"Oh no! These plants need water, without it they’re going to die,” the farmer exclaimed.
He realized that if the plants wilted, his family would go hungry. So he prayed.
In the meantime, the natives had very little water to drink.
"Without the rain, the tribe will be forced to go through tough times,”
announced the chief as he gathered the village people together.

"We will need water to drink, for cooking food, bathing and to
help fi ght disease. We have to chant!” So they did.
The children sang, the farmer prayed and the natives chanted.
Even though Nimbus was far away, he heard their calls. He was so thrilled to
be wanted again. Without wasting another second he rushed to his name!
He poured down his rain until every last shrub had enough water.
The Indians danced.

The farmer laughed.
The children cheered.

Nimbus was overjoyed once again to bring happiness to prosper all throughout the land.NN
