Basic Camera Shots

Establishing Shot

Use these shots to help establish where

the story is taking place. For example, a

video promoting a musician may use an

establishing shot of a festival tent venue

to set the story up.

Wide Shot

Wide shots shoot at a wide angle and will

help establish the framework of scenes

(where, what, when), setting the video in

the right environmental context.

Close-up

Close-up shots focus on the face, or

another part of the subject, taking up the

entire frame of the shot.
