    Thirty-ve-millimeter color slides are accom-

    Classroom Activities Guide to Painting in the

    Dutch Golden Age

    This classroom guide complements the Painting

    in the Dutch Golden Age teaching resource withnine themed activities sections in a range osubjects, rom art to social studies. Activities

    encourage close exploration o works o art andconnect art to both curriculum and present-daytopics. The accompanying CD eatures sixty-

    eight images, two videos, and supplementalmaterials including primary sources, biogra-

    A shrewd businessman, Chester Dale(18831962) started out as a Wall Street

    Cycle

    Direct Loans to Individuals

    Any individual may borrow educationresources. Borrowers should request a specicdate plus an alternate date. The Gallery must

    receive your request at least one month beoreyour preerred date; otherwise, given the high

    volume o loan requests, the program will mostlikely have to be booked or the alternate date.

    Please note that our ordering process

    has changed. The new system requires eachborrower to sel-register online. Once your

    registration is accepted, you will receive ane-mail conrmation. Please allow two businessdays or the registration to be validated prior

    to ordering programs. You will receive an IDnumber that will be required to place an order.

    The Gallery mails the programs well inadvance o the scheduled date. Borrowers

    should return the programs to the Gallerywithin ve working days; borrowers pay onlyor return postage (media mail rate). Returned

    Aliate loansextended loans and arrange-

    ments or duplicating or broadcasting selectedprogramsare an option or organizations that

    schedule or extensive audiences, such as schoolsystems, instructional resource centers, muse-ums, libraries, and public and instructional

    television stations. Through this arrangement,selected programs are placed on long-term loan

    or made available or noncommercial televisionor limited digital presentation. This option isintended only or organizations that support

    active distribution systems.Aliate organizations may borrow copies

    o all programs or an extended periodupto three years, with annual renewal therea-ter. These organizations act as distributors,

    providing wide audiences access to the Galleryseducation resources. Organizations with non-

    commercial television capability may receivepermission, by means o a special written licens-ing agreement, to broadcast and/or duplicate
