PARVOTEXTM Laundering GuidelinesGarments made from ParvotexTM PLUS fabrics may be safely dry-cleaned or laundered/dried in home or industrial type

machinery. Listed below are guidelines that may be helpful for proper cleaning and care of these garments.

General Guidelines

• Launder separately from non-flame resistant garments. Lint from these garments may affect flame resistance.

• Do Not Use Chlorine Bleach. Chlorine bleach may reduce garment life.

• Garments with very oily or greasy stains may be pre-treated and washed in hot water (140 F Maximum).

Dry cleaning may be more effective on these kinds of stains.

• This fabric dries rapidly; for lowest shrinkage Do Not Over Dry.

• Shrinkage of 3-4% may be expected; size garments accordingly.

Home Laundering

• Permanent press or cotton / sturdy wash cycle with cold or warm water. Permanent press cycle recommended for the best appearance

over the life span of the garment.

• Use detergent only (products such as Cheer or Tide). Do not use soap (products such as Ivory Snow). Soap may leave deposits on the

fabric that affect flame resistance.

•Tumble dry. Permanent press cycle for best appearance.

Industrial Laundering

• For best appearance and longest service life, launder at 140 F with high-surfactant, low alkalinity detergent formulations. Garments can

be laundered at higher temperatures without fabric damage, but additional color loss may be a result.

• High-surfactant, low alkalinity detergent formulations are recommended for best cleaning and color retention. PH values should not

exceed 9 to 10. Color loss, excessive shrinkage and reduced garment life may result from repeated exposure to excessive temperature

and pH in laundering.

• Soil redeposition can be minimized by using correct load size (60-70% of rated maximum weight), washing formula and rinsing proce-

dures. For most effective cleaning use a “Multiple Adds Procedure” (break and second suds).

• F or optimum garment life and reduced wrinkling rinse cycles should end with a final rinse temperature of 85-95 F and pH at or slightly

above 7. Temperature step-downs between cycles should not exceed 15 F.

• Tumble dry basket temperatures should not exceed 200 F with 130-160 F stack temperature.

• Smoother garments and longer wear life may result from tunnel drying. Evaluate conditions to minimize hanger impressions. Garment

temperature should not exceed 280 F.

• Garments may be pressed or tunnel finished, if desired. Determine best conditions to prevent fabric glazing or color loss before adop-

ting a procedure

Dry Cleaning

• Clean perchloroethylene can be used. Ensure solvent is completely evaporated. Redeposition must be avoided.
