The Woodlands Christian Academy is pleased to welcome Catering for Kids as our school lunch provider for the 2012-2013 school year. This Woodlands owned and operated company will prepare hot lunches in our campus kitchen each day for all of our students.

The goal of Catering For Kids is to provide nutritious lunches without all the fats, fillers and sugars used in the average school lunch. A manager and cooks will be in our cafeteria kitchen each day preparing creative, well-balanced meals that students will enjoy eating. After all, a nutritious meal is worthless if not eaten! As an added benefit, Catering For Kids will

provide an online debit system for easy lunch ordering. No more forms to fill out or checks to write each month! Simply add funds to your account as needed. With the online system you will be notified when your balance is low, be able to view your monthly statement, and even review your purchase history. The cost of the meals is as follows: $4.30 for PreK-Kindergarten; $4.70 for 1st-2nd grade; $5.10 for 3rd-5th grade; $5.75 for 6th-8th grade and $6.50 for 9th-12th grade. An optional larger lunch is available for an additional $1.50 for all grade levels. You may visit with representatives from Catering For Kids during Back To School Day on Wednesday, August 1 from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the MPR. For more information about Catering For Kids click here .

Two local orthodontists have come up with a unique way to help Woodlands Christian. Dr. Jeff Mardaga and Dr. Jim Hanigan will donate their orthodontia fees to The Woodlands Christian Academy. Here’s how it works: Any patient getting braces at Dr. Mardaga’s or Dr. Hanigan’s offices will have the option of making checks payable to Woodlands Christian. Drs. Mardaga and Hanigan will, in turn, apply these fees to support our school.

Dr. Jeff Mardaga’s commitment to Woodlands Christian began even before his son Christian, now an 8th grade student, was born, “My wife, Peggy and I fell in love with The Woodlands Christian Academy before we even had a child to send there. So when our son was born there was

never a question as to where he would attend school. The Woodlands Christian Academy is, without a doubt, ‘God’s school’. Through our years here we have seen many changes, growing pains and still many needs. It is my hope that through a win-win-win program of providing orthodontic care we can help support our wonderful school. Woodlands Christian wins by getting the funds it needs to grow and thrive, the patient wins by getting a beautiful smile for a lifetime and Peggy, Christian and I win by helping TWCA achieve it’s goals.”

Dr. Jim Hanigan is also deeply committed to Woodlands Christian. His family is now in it’s 13th year at TWCA, “I have three daughters (Jordan, 11th

grade; Hailey, 9th grade, and Meagan, 4th grade) attending Woodlands Christian. Their education is very important to us, but having them develop a deep and personal relationship with Christ is even more important to my wife, Michelle, and me. 1

Timothy 4:12 says, Let no one despise you for your youth, but set for the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. I don’t believe we could find another school whose faculty sets such an example in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity. All parents at the school want the best for their children, the best teachers, best environment and best facilities. When Dr. Mardaga called me, I thought his idea to donate the case fee to the school was exceptional. It will give everyone something to smile about, and more importantly give this outstanding group of students a quality education in which to excel didactically, spiritually and socially.” Join Drs. Mardaga and Hanigan in giving your children (or yourself) and Woodlands Christian a reason to smile!
