As a reminder, in order for an adult to attend a classroom Valentine’s Day Party, he/she must be VIRTUS trained. There will be no exceptions made. Also, siblings may not attend class parties. If you plan on attending, please RSVP to your teacher no later then Tuesday, February 9th. 2:00 Release Tomorrow! Students will be released at 2:00pm tomorrow. Our After School Program will be available. Students are asked to wear their favorite pair of jeans along with their spirit shirt, or- ganizational shirt or red shirt (see be- low for details)! There is no cost on Spirit Days! In support of awareness of heart disease, we invite and encourage all of our SMMCS stu- dents and faculty to wear red tomorrow for National Wear Red Day! This could mean wearing a red shirt, red pants/jeans, red socks, red sweater and/or red shoes! Ready, Set...Goal! Are you ready for another fun and exciting Soccer Season? Registration forms are being sent home today via the newsletter email. Registration Forms are due by February 12th, along with the $50 participation fee. The league is open to ALL PREK3 thru 5th GRADE STUDENTS. We are looking for volunteers to act as coaches and referees. Experience is not necessary, but you must be VIRTUS certified. Please contact Marco Garza at [email protected] if you are interested in helping out or have questions. There will be no ice cream tomorrow. It will be back NEXT WEEK!     Our PreK through 5th grade students will host

    Volunteers...Always Needed/Always Wanted! As you all know, we are always looking for ways for our parents/families to be involved in our SMMCS community.     Please signup for as many time slots/events as you would like!

    Tomorrow, February 5th, The PTO will host a Teacher Appreciation Luncheon.

    How can you help? We are looking for desserts for the luncheon. And we are looking for parent

    volunteers to remain in the classroom while the teacher is having lunch. If you are able to donate a dessert/sweet treat, please drop it off in the front office the morning of the 5ttomorrow morning. If you can hang out with our incredible kid-dos, please signup through the above SignUpGenius link.

    Auditions are open to all SMMCS students in 1st through 8th grade.

    Auditions will be held next Thursday, February 11th, immedi-ately after school. Auditions will continue until 5:00pm;

    however, students are free to go once they have auditioned.

    Practices will be held every Thursday afternoon leading up to April 8th.

    Permission slips and directions will be sent home by Monday, February 8th. Please contact Mr. Whitworth at

    Hey Steps for Students 5k Race Fans,

    We are approaching our final online registration deadline for Steps for Students.

    If you have already registered, thank you so much, and we look forward to seeing you on Race Day -

    Saturday, February 20!

    If you have not yet registered, or would like to invite others to join you at the race, here is what

    you need to know:

    Online Registration is still open, but the cost is now $25!

    You can still join our SMMCS team, but you will have to pick up your race packet in person at Indi-

    vidual packet pick-up on Feb. 13 at Luke’s Locker, 1953 West Gray St or LAST CHANCE PACKET PICK-UP on

    Feb. 18-19 is also at Luke’s Locker.
