The Queens Diamond Jubilee what are you doing to celebrate?

Monday 6th February marked TheQueens Accession date the

beginning of Her Majestys 60th year onthe throne and the start of the Diamond

Jubilee Year.As part of celebrating this historicoccasion, last week Aidan attended a

Thanksgiving Service to mark the 60thAnniversary of the Accession of HerMajesty Queen Elizabeth II at LichfieldCathedral. He is also looking forwardto the many events which will takeplace later this year both in Cannockand around the UK.There are also many ways individuals can get involved in celebrating

The Queens Diamond Jubilee. One of them is to organise or attend aBig Jubilee Lunch. With Government support, Big Lunches will take

place around the UK on 3rd June 2012 and across the maincelebration weekend that culminates in an extra Bank Holiday on

    Tuesday 5th June 2012.

Some 10 million people came out in sunny 1977 to celebrate theSilver Jubilee and organisers hope a large number of people will takepart in The Big Lunch for the first time in 2012 - joining the best part of2 million people that have been doing it for the last 3 years! Thebeauty of The Big Lunch is that people themselves decide everythingabout their own event. The venue can be wherever you want or havespace, the theme whatever you fancy - food and people are the key

ingredients. Quite simply The Big Lunch is about getting as manypeople as possible to sit down and have lunch with their neighbours. You can find out more about organising a Big Lunch in your street orneighbourhood here. And also find out about other ways to celebratethe Diamond Jubilee here.

    CORRECTION:

The Tour de NockIn the last edition the article on the Tour de Nock cycle raceincorrectly stated the event had been organised by MammouthLifestyle Ltd (who had provided Aidan with a cycle and otherequipment to take part in the event).

In fact the Tour de Nock was organised by Neil Scriven and MattWilliams of Cycle Shack, under the banner of Cycle ShackEvents and sponsored by Chuse Design & Cycle Shack. Thefigure raised for the Hibbs Lupus Trust was 1744.94.Aidan Burley MP would like to apologise for this inaccuracy, particularly to Neil Scriven and Matt Williams who put in so muchhard work to make this event possible.
