    COOPI, in partnership with Edukans, LVIA,

  • KEY STAKEHOLDERS

    6 Project Steering Committees have been set up

    at federal and regional level to ensure sustainability

    and ownership by the Ethiopian Government.

    27 TVETs are capacitated and strengthened to offer

    39 demand-driven short training courses.

    328 private companies are involved in the design

    of short-term trainings, host 7800 cooperative

    training and apprenticeships, participate in 16

    multi-stakeholders platforms and sign 145 PPPs

    with TVETs and PES/local administrations.

    22 Local Administrations, offering Public

    Employment Services, are strengthened.

    SINCE aims at contributing to the reduction of

    irregular migration from Northern and Central

    Ethiopia by improving the living conditions of the

    most vulnerable population.

    The specific objective of SINCE is to facilitate the

    creation of employment opportunities for

    potential migrants and returnees, focusing on women

    and youth, in the most migration prone regions of

    Ethiopia (Addis Ababa, Amhara, Oromia, SNNPR and

    Tigray), by strengthening the capacities of Technical

    Vocational Training (TVET) centers and Public

    Employment Services (PES) providers, and by

    promoting Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) in

    strategic value chains.

    IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGY

    The implementation of SINCE includes two main

    strategic pillars:

    short-term responses to facilitate wage employment

    to 8,200 people through the provision of training

    courses relevant to private sectors needs;

    medium and long-term strategies, establishing 16

    multi-stakeholders platforms to promote

    sustainable 145 Public -Private Partnerships.

    ILO conducted a socio-economic assessment

    and is piloting a Youth Employability Centre

    in Bahir Dar

    UNIDO conducted a value chain assess-

    ment and is assisting the Embassy of Italy in

    monitoring grant Beneficiaries
