New Beginnings By Hillary Krippaehne

Easter is a time to rejoice in Jesus’ victory on the cross. It is a time to remind ourselves about the freedom of forgiveness. It is a time to not look back on the mistakes of the past, but to look forward to the joy of the future.

Read Exodus 16:1-3. Read Exodus 32:1-4.

The Israelites were given an amazing opportunity to forget about their pasts when they escaped from Egypt. However, when they were in the desert, they constantly complained and thought about their lives in Egypt.

Read Isaiah 43:18-19.

God wants us to leave our past behind us. He does not want us focusing on mistakes we have made or the way life used to be. God is constantly doing new things and making new paths for us to walk along. We need to embrace His forgiveness, grace, and redemption.

Going deeper:

Look up, read, and reflect on Ezekiel 36:26, Psalm 30:5, Jeremiah 29:11, and 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Draw an image of plants, flowers, or something else to help you remember what it means to have a new beginning with Jesus.

Write a prayer to God, asking Him to help you let go of your past, and take hold of hope and forgiveness that only He can give you during this season.
