Reliability This section defines the index requirement of the northbound interfaces with respect to reliability parameters.

Time between Failure

The time between failures refers to the period where the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface has no failure in a specific statistic time.

The non-failure rate for the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface needs to be more than 95% in the statistic time.

The non-failure rate can be calculated in the following equation:

P = (T – (T1 + … + Tk))/ T.

Where,

P: Non-failure rate

T: Total statistic duration for non-failure

K: Number of failures in the statistic period

Tk: Duration of one failure

Note: As for this index, under actual operation, it will take long time to come to a comparable conclusion. The statistic time here ranges from preliminary acceptance to final acceptance.

Mean Time between Failures (MTBF)

The MTBF (or unavailable) refers to the average interval time between two failures (or unavailable) occurring in the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface.

The MTBF (or unavailable) of the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface needs to be more than 90 days.

Mean Time To Repair (MTTR)

The MTTR (or unavailable) refers to the mean time taken to repair a failure (or unavailable) in the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface.

The MTTR (or unavailable) of the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface needs to be less than 1 hour.

Error Tolerance Capacity

The error tolerance capability refers to the capability that the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface processes errors when the NMS enters invalid data to the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface.

The NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface should tell invalid data and remind users of invalid data with good error tolerance capability.

Note: In NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface, invalid data does not lead to NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) failure.

Failure Recovery Capability

The failure recovery capability refers to the capability that the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface recovers the lost data after the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) software or hardware failure (for example, data link is disconnected) is recovered.

After the failure is recovered, the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface should provide changed configuration data of managed NEs to the NMS completely and correctly, generated and cleared alarm information and generated performance data.

The NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface should recover over 90% complete and over 95% accurate lost data.

Processing Capability Operation Response Delay

The operation response delay refers to the delay time taken to receive a response at NMS from the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface after one operation is executed through the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface.

The operation response delay can be measured when the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) bears some load, such as in alarm storm (intensity: 10/s and duration: 15 min).

In this case, the delay time that the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface responds to simple operations should be less than 10 seconds.

Alarm Report Delay

The alarm report delay refers to the delay time between the occurrences of real-time network alarm to the generation of the alarm by the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface.

The real-time alarm delay should be little. In normal operation:

The alarm delay should be less than 10 seconds.

In the case of alarm storm (intensity: 10/s and duration: 15 min), the alarm delay should be less than 30 seconds.

Configuration Data Synchronization Delay

The configuration data synchronization delay refers to the maximum delay when the NMS synchronizes configuration data to the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface.

When the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface synchronizes all attributes of 1000 configuration object instances, its maximum delay is 5 minutes.

Alarm Data Synchronization Delay

The alarm data synchronization delay refers to the maximum delay when the NMS synchronizes alarm information list (including un-cleared alarms and cleared but unconfirmed alarms) to the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface.

The maximum delay for 1000 alarm data synchronization is 5 minutes.

Performance Data Report Delay

The performance data report delay refers to the delay of period from the performance data report time specified by the collection activity to when the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface reports performance data (sending the notice that performance file is ready or abnormal). This delay includes the time when the NE reports data to the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) and the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) processes data, prepares files and reports the file preparation notice to the NMS.

For performance data with 30-minute collection time interval, its delay should be less than 15 minutes

For performance data with 1-hour collection time interval, its delay should be less than 20 minutes

For performance data with 24-hour collection time interval, its delay should be less than 1 hour

Performance Data Re-collection Report Delay

Performance data re-collection report delay refers to the delay of period from the time when the NMS sends the re-collection command to the time when the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface reports performance data (sending the notice that performance file is ready or abnormal). This delay includes the time when the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) organizes, processes data, prepares files and reports the file preparation notice to the NMS.

The delay of re-collected report is not required here.

Alarm Throughput

The alarm throughput refers to the maximum real-time alarms that the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface can forward in a unit time.

The alarm throughput should be at least 10/s.

Concurrent Processing Capability

The concurrent processing capability refers to the capability that the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface can process the invoking operations of NMS concurrently. The concurrent processing capability can be measured when the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) bears some load, such as in alarm storm (intensity: 10 /s, and duration: 15 min).

In this case, the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface should process 5 simple operations concurrently per second at least.

Access Capability The access capability refers to the NMS quantity that the NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface can support and access.

The NetNumen™ M3 (ZXC10 BSSB) northbound interface should support and access not less than 2 NMSs.

Data Precision Requirements The requirements for floating point number precisions are as follows.

For the value precision of total wireless capacity or traffic (unit: erlang), round off. This type of data includes traffic on Interface A, call completion traffic and response traffic.

For the load index in erlang per line or erlang per user, take five digits after the decimal point.

For ratio data, take digits before the percentage sign. It will be round off to the third digit, for example, 54.2312=54.231. This type of data includes the mean load of switch main processor, CPU utilization and memory utilization.

For IP data flow (Unit: MByte), it will be round off to the third digit. This type of data includes uplink flow and downlink flow.

Scientific notation is not adopted here.
