1. What is StepAndRepeat?
StepandRepeat is the new neoTextil 7 software to create the rapport and
the repetitions of your designs, both for Mac and Windows systems (32 and
64bits). The options include selecting type of Rapport -vertical or
horizontal-, selecting the Drop, and setting the Offset choosing from various
measuring units. All the actions are performed while having a repeated view
of the design.
A preview panel next to the design shows instantly any changes made.

3. Opening StepAndRepeat 1.0
To work with StepAndRepeat you need a dongle that Inèdit Software must
provide you. Once you install the dongle on a USB port you can start the
program.
Open a design with any of the Adobe Photoshop versions compatible with
the module.
From the Window menu in Photoshop, go to Extensions and start
neoStepAndRepeat. The module’s panel will open.

If you download the program but do not have the dongle, you will access
the Demo mode:
In Demo, you can just see what the panel looks like. If you try to do any
action or set any value a small window wil pop-up, indicating that it is not
possible:

The working options are on the left column of the panel:
The panel can be placed next to the document -dragging it to Photoshop’s
work-frame- in order to see equally big images:

4. Rapport Options
This section in the working column shows the rapport Drop and Mode
(Horizontal and Vertical).

The field Drop sets the offset between repeats, and allows any fraction such
as 1/1, 1/2, 2/3, etc. These values can be also indicated in pixels (px),
points (pt), inches (in), meters (m), centimeters (cm) , milimiters (mm) or
repetitions (rp).
We can see on the sample design of this manual that it doesn’t match
vertically, so we will have to set new values for the Vertical drop.

Entering a 1/2 drop in vertical, we can see that the image rapports
properly:
The Offset can be set manually in two different ways: graphically or
entering position values.
• Proceeding graphically, this is done by moving the red square within
the panel’s design to any new desired position. The new offset will be
reflected numerically:

And the document’s image will automatically show the changed offset
from the panel:

The rule’s document also shows the position of the new offset.
If we wish to change the measuring units in Photoshop’s rule, proceed to
open the Window’s menu and click on Information:

• Entering the Offset values (px, mm, cm, pt, etc.) in the horizontal
and vertical fields, we modify them manually. When these fields are
entered, the above options Drop and Mode become inactive.
Predetermined Drops
StepandRepeat offers four stardard Drop modes, applicable with the
following buttons:
When we apply the predetermined drops, the upper buttons Drop and Mode
will become inactive. To go back to the initial position (values 0,0), click on
the left button -complete image-.

5. Repetition Options
In the following editing fields can be set the Repetition parameters.
Again, the horizontal and vertical points of origin can be introduced (px, cm,
mm, rp, pt).
By default, the program opens the panel showing three repetitions of the
design, three in each direction. This value can be changed manually in the
Size fields.
Any new number of repetitions will be kept and taken by default when
saving the document.
