A call or grateul livingMany American adults consider Tanksgiving to be their

avorite holiday. While Christmas or the Christmas season, really is a estive, nostalgic celebration, lets be honest, its ALO o work! Tanksgiving, on the other hand, is a day thats goodor the soul. I we are ortunate, we may be able to take a breakrom our hectic lives, gather with amily members, share a mealwith loved ones and give (not gis, but) thanks.

Many o us may not be aware o just what a powerul emotiongratitude really is. It may be surprising or some to learn that thosewho practice gratitude as a way o lie eel better about themselves, are more optimistic about the uture and improve their health! In act, scientists are nding that these grateul individualsconsistently report many health benets, including:

Stronger immune systems. Lower blood pressure. Higher levels o positive emotions. More joy, optimism and happiness. Feeling less lonely and isolated.1

happiness is an ecstatic state omind, and natural byproduct opositive experiences and atti-

tudes, with the eects on your mind, bodyand lie varying in impact and duration.Positive experiences are enjoyable on theirown accord and are urther enhanced bythe release o endorphins and other eel-good chemicals. Aerwards, you can stillenjoy positive memories and take heartin good experiences, but the eects o anypositive physiological contributions arerelatively short lived.

Negative emotional energy and its eectsare very dierent, however. Whatever thereasons you may carry or live with suchburdens, particularly when based on eel-ings o choice such as resentment, rustra-tion, prejudice or antagonism, negativeenergy has a way o sinking deep within thecarrier and coagulating in the heart. Fromthere, any accompanying negative percep-tions, thoughts and attitudes have a wayo permeating throughout the mind, bodyand spirit, seeping outwardly towards thosenear you and taking a toll in each place thatis at least destructive, i not permanent.

Even though others may be impacted bysuch pervasive negativity, it is the carrierwho stands to benet the most rom stop-ping such caustic cycles and their eects. In act, with the right attitude, many exist-ing negative eects can be positively coun-tered, resulting in less overall impact onyour relationships, health, heart and senseo inner peace!

But in order to aect the thoughts andeelings that have ar too oen taken anunknown toll, you must be able to makeenough solid, positive changes o heartand mind to counter them as they arise. It would also be to your benet were youto attempt becoming more aware o exist-ing or habitual negative perceptions andcondemnations, and what eects they mayhave on you. Tese are the draining mind-sets that linger in the back o your heart ora chance to spring to the oreront and theyalways leave their mark.

As an example, how worthwhile is carry around the onus o hatred or somelse? Are you aware that all youre dis giving them ongoing control over happiness? Does anyone really deservhave that much power over you? Or i tis something in your past botheringand nothing else can be done about it,owe it to yoursel to leave it there and orward, more reely, into a new utureis both unwritten and lled with potent

You are the only one who can coyour thoughts and perceptions, so not do yoursel a avor and begin ma

Doreally want to carry unnecessary emotdistractions that accomplish little mthan diminish your energy, hold you and make your journey through lie alharder? More and more people todayare recognizing the value oconnecting with their authentic

selves and awakening spiritually. As a acil-itator, I am committed to helping peopleawaken to the remembrance o all theyare. Tere exists a bit o a misconceptionabout the nature (spiritual vs. religious)and process o this lie-changing experi-ence, however. So, Id like to share theollowing Q&A in hopes that it may helppeople better understand this process ospiritual awakening.

    Q. What is the word spiritual, and how is itdened or individuals?A. Each individual has their own uniquerelationship with God/goddess/spirit/divine/creator/one/nature/all that is. Forme, the word spiritual reers to the relation-ship we have with and between ourselvesand spirit. Tereore, simply stated, spiri-tual awakening would be remembering/reclaiming this relationship. As we workon this, sometimes the ocus on spiritualawakening can actually get in the way othe simple remembrance o who we areand our relationship with the divine. Exer-cising the muscle o nding and staying inthe Center o Sel supports the presenceo clarity and ease while awakening.

CeNTer O Sel:Being in the centero ones bioeld/aura; being in consciousalignment with the truth o who one is.Neither orward nor back; neither rushingin with an agenda nor withholding ones

natural contribution. Related to, butdistinct rom grounding, like bumper cars solid, heavy, connected to their powersource by a rod that stays in a constantposition, even when the cars turn. We havethat same constant current connecting usto God, while we experience moving withweight on the earth.1

    Q. How do I nd my true sel?A. Start with a question: How do youdene true? I reer to (small t) truth dier-ently than (capital ) ruth. (Small t) truthcan best be described as that which appears

to be true In ime, while (capital ) ruthreers to Out o ime. An example otruth could be: I am emale, 55 years old, grandmother, 5'4" and on and on it goes.An incorrect representation otruth mightbe: I am a procrastinator, araid, selshand so on. Tese have been identied astruth within a locked system o awareness, harboring a multitude o experiences, witha signicant amount o data conrmingits perceived reality. When we are in theexperience o our ruth, we are presentto our true sel. We have ound an actualexperience rather than struggling to nd adescription o who we think we are.

iN TiMe/OUT O TiMe: What occursIn ime is reality as we know it, here andnow: visible, tangible, governed by thelaws o physics a closed system, or so itseems. Out o ime can be experienced Inime, as being in the ow perhaps whiledancing, painting, gardening, perorming

or competing ully absorbed, little awareness o time passing. Tis a sense o having all that is needesense that all is well. Tere is peacean absence o hurry, as i time itselpaused. In these moments, we are tadivine order, heaven on earth, realitthe here and now.1

I hope these gave you some insightthe concept o spiritual awakening. Iare currently in the process o connecwith your authentic sel/awakeninghave interest in getting started), be athat somewhere on your journey you

have an experience o conusion orknowing. Please know that this is noand no cause or concern. A spirteacher once shared with me that cosion and not knowing are very high so awareness, and that it is possible totremendous joy amidst these states!

I regularly witness the strength it takremain true to ones authentic sel. I appthe commitment required to contstrengthening the muscle to choose nowhile remaining open to everything.

For people to just close their eyes and go into an alternate state oconsciousness takes an immense amount o time, training and eort.

Crystal singing bowls oer a shortcut to this mental territorybecause they balance the hemispheres o the brain and can put

you in a hypnotic state when you play them or they are plnear you. In a way, they work similarly to yoga and tai chi romperspective that the bowls keep your body distracted enoughyour mind to achieve an alternate level o consciousness.

Crystal bowls are made rom highly puried quartz powder percent silicon quartz) that has been used together in a centriuhigh temperatures, so they retain the qualities o quartz itsel. Quproduces pure tone and also contains the ull spectrum o lightrelates to the seven chakras in the human body. When played, crsinging bowls emit a measurable wave pattern similar to alpha wo the brain, and heal the listener by bringing this pure ull speclight, in the orm o sound, back into the human aura.

Crystal singing bowls come in a variety o sizes, ormats and nTey can range rom 5" to 22" in diameter, can be rosted or clear

may have either round or at bottoms. Some have a handle onbottom or more mobile playing. Tey can be one o the typical sscale notes or be rom the diatonic scale. Frosted bowls are the economical and most common, but some newer processes inprecious gemstones, rare crystals, minerals or precious metalsthe bowls when they are ormed. Some bowls are even printed oglazed with 24K gold or the ultimate regal touch (and sound).

Singing bowls are an active archetypal symbol o creationbowl itsel represents the eminine womb o the great motherwand is the masculine activating or releasing orce o the aogether, they birth sacred sound, which, in turn, is exceor maniesting and healing because o the balance and ocuenergy it contains.

Holographic sound healing practitioners oen utilize the crsinging bowls as master maniestation tools. In the hypnotic hsonic resonance, change can be more easily projected into the subscious to aect personal transormation, once the intention is ch

ribs dont get the respect they deserve. Since they can causechest pain and contribute to upper back pain, people some-times orget the importance o their normal unctions:

clearing upper back pain and preserving health. Te ribs appearto be simple bones, but their anatomic relationships are myriad. Most ribs share joint connections with two vertebrae. Te ribsthen continue around to the ront o the body, where they changerom bone to cartilage. Tis cartilage connects to the rib and, directly or indirectly, to the breastbone, creating two more joints, which can be stuck, sprained or partially dislocated. Between the

ribs, there are three muscles. Te ribs connect to the low back andsacrum, serve as anchors or the neck and shoulder girdles, andconnect to the endothoracic ascia (to which the lining o the chestcavity connects). And so, the mechanical complexity o the ribsbecomes sel-evident.

In ront o the ribs, on the inside o the back o the chest, thesympathetic chains that serve to carry much o the autonomicnervous system input or the body are tethered. When the ribs arestuck, jammed, twisted or otherwise distorted, mechanical tensionis transerred to these chains, which may in turn negatively inu-ence blood ow to the heart, lungs and gut, heart rate, stomachacid production, or other gastro intestinal or bronchial symptoms, depending upon the level o the lesion.

Rib problems can aect the muscles that attach to them, eithercausing tension or weakness and incoordination. Tis includesneck muscles, muscles that anchor the shoulder girdle (e.g.,pectoralis muscles, rhomboid muscles, upper and lower trape-zius muscles) and others less commonly spoken o in gym circles. When the balance o these muscles is thrown o, problems withshoulder blade control arise, which in turn can stress the A-C andball and socket joints o the shoulder, leading to impingementsyndrome or longer-term pinching and erosion o the rotator cu.

when is the last time you went to the doctor or a healthcheckup? It can be a hassle to call or an appointment, take time o work, drive to the doctors ofce and wait

in the exam room with only old magazines to read. Now thinkabout taking your pet in or a wellness exam. Same hassles, plustoting a cat carrier with a yowling cat inside or making sure your dog doesnt jump all over the car, or shed or vomit on the seats

doesnt sound like a un!So why should you bring your pet in or an annual exam, e

So what do veterinarians really check when you take youin or a wellness exam? Te rst thing is getting a weight. is compared to the pets last weight and leads to a discussiodiet and exercise. Aer the exam, vaccinations are given, based on your pets riskactors. Core vaccines are ones all cats and dogs should get: rabies, upper respiratory (cats), parvo and distemper (dogs). Non-core

vaccines include eline leukemia, Lyme and bordetella. Blood maybe drawn to test or heartworms, tick-borne diseases (like Lyme),eline leukemia and eline AIDS. A stool sample is checked or

parasites. Because dogs and cats age more quickly, baseline bloodwork is highly recommended. Regular blood work and urinechecks can help us nd problems when they are easily treated, beore your pet is acting sick.

Your veterinarian also spends time asking about bathroom habits, behavior problems you might be seeing and diseases to be aware oas your pet ages. It is very helpul to bring a list o your concerns tothe visit, so you can be sure to get all your questions answered!

So while it can be a hassle to get your pet to the veterinarian, itis very important in keeping your urry riend healthy or yearsto come. And who knows, maybe it will be more enjoyable thanyou think!

digestion is all too oen evident in many childhood constipa-tion and diarrhea problems. So, what i you knew that autonomicnerves in your spine innervate and coordinate digestion, andsmooth muscle ound throughout the small and large intestines? And what i you knew that constipation meant your system wasout o balance rom diet, stress or injury, potentially irritating theautonomic nerve system? What i you could do something aboutit that didnt require putting drugs into your childs body? In myclinical experience, I have ound a direct correlation with spinal

    misalignments and digestive health.

T mssn lnkIn my pediatric practice, it is more common to nd digestive and bowelhabits an indicator that the body is out o balance beore a complaint omusculoskeletal pain. My approach is pragmatic in that I look rst atthe basics such as diet and environmental challenges the inant or childis exposed to. Both o these can adversely impact the autonomic nervesystem as well as trigger a hypersensitive immune response leading toood sensitivities ultimately aecting bowel habits.

My 1- and 3-year-old nephews recently conrmed the role thenerve system plays in bowel habits. Teir mom and dad ocusedon natural childbirths, breasteeding at least 12 months, a diet oorganic oods whenever possible, and avoiding sugar and renedoods. Following a daily Vitamix blended vegetable/ruit juice, with all the enzymes and raw nutrients, the oldest would stillonly have about two or three bowel movements per week. I wouldadjust the youngest or torticollis and the older or preventive

color o a porcelain veneer can be selectedsuch that it makes dark teeth appear whiter.Tey provide a natural tooth appearancethat is stain resistant. Gum tissue toler-ates porcelain well, and veneers providea strong, aesthetic alternative to crowns, typically lasting ten to een years.

ConsA porcelain crown is a tooth-shaped capthat is placed over a tooth, covering it torestore its shape, size and strength, andimprove its appearance. Te crowns, whencemented into place, ully cover the visibleportion o a tooth that lies at and above thegum line.

Porcelain crowns also oer many advan-tages. Tey are natural looking, stain resis-tant and durable (last ve to een years),and restore the ability to speak and chew, protect damaged teeth rom urther decayand restore condence in your smile.

Te largest advantage o dentalbonding is the ease and inexpensivenature. Unlike veneers and crowns, which

are customized tooth coverings thatmust be manuactured in a lab, bondingusually can be done in one ofce visit, unless several teeth are involved. Anotheradvantage is that very little tooth enamelis removed. Also, unless dental bonding isbeing perormed to ll a cavity, anesthesiais usually not required. Te disadvantagesare that dental bonding typically does notlast as long as veneers or crowns, and it isless stain and wear resistant.

o these systems are one or more hot water collectors, a pump(s), acontroller, a heat exchanger and a solar storage tank.

Solar hot water collectors usually are 4 eet wide by 6, 8 or 10eet tall, and are usually installed on the roo. Other sizes are alsoavailable, which provides options to the installer to accommodate

Tis organization runs collectors through a rigid teregime to ensure they meet specic construction standardsprovides perormance ratings or apples-to-apples comparamong dierent manuacturers products.

Te controller is the brain behind the system. It monitors

A nontoxic antireeze solution circulates throthe collectors, picks up the heat and transers it to the watethe storage tank through the heat exchanger. Te controller turns o the pump when the tank is up to the preset temperor the there is no solar resource available.

Almost 30 years ago, the U.S. Surgeon General testiedbeore Congress saying, It is time to close the book oninectious diseases. We declared war on microbes. Flash

orward to today and, well, let me say this they are winning.Te overuse o antibiotics has weakened our immune systems.

Sure, antibiotics may kill bacteria, but many only work on specicbacteria. Tey also do not work on viral or ungal inections.Despite this act, antibiotics still tend to be used in many o thesecases, with little or no benet.

In addition, bacteria are extremely clever. When exposed to anti-biotics that wipe out 90 percent o their population, the remaining10 percent adapt and orm new colonies that can live in the pres-ence o the antibiotic.1 Such antibiotic-resistant strains o bacteriaare increasingly common today. It is leading to the reappearance osome diseases once believed to have been conquered. Conditionslike tuberculosis, gonorrhea, malaria and childhood ear inections

are now more difcult to treat than they were a ew decades ago.Another example o the cleverness o microbes is the act that somestrains actually produce spores that allow them to survive extremeconditions. Its no wonder health experts call them superbugs!

Harvard University Proessor and Nobel Laureate Dr. WalterGilbert has warned, Tere may be a time down the road when 80to 90 percent o inections will be resistant to all known antibiot-ics. Scary, to say the least.

What can be done? We can use herbs and other natural reme-dies to ght inection.

Herbs and natural remedies get good grades. Heres why:Natural remedies are very complex and their chemical nature

varies slightly rom year to year that they are grown. Tis preventsmicrobes rom developing resistance to them. In addition to killingmicrobes, natural remedies strengthen the immune system, whileantibiotics actually weaken the immune system by disrupting theriendly ora. Herbs and riendly ora get along quite nicely.

Many natural remedies are antibacterial, antiviral and antiun-gal. Tey can be eective in many cases where antibiotics are not, such as: colds, u, sinus and respiratory inections, sore throats, earaches and bronchitis.

What are some o these antibacterial herbs and remedies?

Hi-potency garlic and Echinacea/goldenseal come immedito mind. For viral inections, a product like Elderberry D3is very good. It contains elderberry ruit extract, Echinpurpurea, vitamin D3, willow bark extract, olive lea extractroyal jelly. weve all had the experience o meetingsomeone and eeling like we already knowthem. Te connection is natural. Te eeling

is sincere. Its just easy.In the healing arts, so many practitioners know that

these connections are so powerul because they arent new.Feel like you already know someone even though youve

just met? Well, its because you do already know him or her.In the intuitive arts, it quickly becomes undeniable that we have

all had other lives, requently called our past lives. In addition,

so many o the people who are currently ullling signicant rolesin our present lives have also been with us beore in our past lives.

Tis is all incredibly interesting to consider, but what is alsoimportant to know is that all o these relationships represent soulcontracts that we have created. In act, we have contracts withalmost every person who crosses our path.

What is a soul contract? Basically, it is an agreement wemake with another person to help them. On a soul level, we areconstantly creating and amending contracts, and sometimes, weeven agree to help someone by not helping them.

Contracts can be huge and involve relationships that last yourentire lietime. Others are tiny and can be completed in justminutes. During intuitive readings, many o the contracts thatcome orward involve primary relationships with parents, signi-cant others or children. Most o the time, there is unnished busi-ness or karma to level. Help needs to be oered and accepted.

However, when we dont accept help, or when we dont step upto the plate and oer help, we arent doing our part to honor thesecontracts, and, as Ive been told in intuitive readings, it is veryimportant or them to be honored and completed. It serves oursoul. And it serves the highest good o the other party.

For example, i someone is trying to do you a service in this

lietime, it is very possible that he or she is trying to make amor something that has happened in another lie. You may actu

eel resistance towards this person because you subconscioremember what happened between the two o you in anothertime. However, allowing this person to help you assists you bYou receive help you need, as well as the opportunity to releaseold eelings o anger you are harboring. The winter season can wreak havoc on not only our snowystreets, but also our skin. Te cold air and windy breezecan cause our skin to become chapped, dull and dehy-

drated. o keep your skin healthy during this time o year, you may

have to double up on moisturizing and possibly use a product thatis heavier in nurturing oils than what you would normally use. Some o the ingredients you should look or in a product include:

Shea nut butter Coconut oil Mango butter Cocoa butter

Soothing products such as these are best used at night, whenyour skin has a little more time to absorb it, or beore going onan outdoor adventure that exposes your skin to reezing wind.Wintery conditions such as these are known to cause chappingand that dreaded wind burn, which leave skin raw and red.

Another helpul natural ingredient to look or is lavender essen-tial oil. Lavender not only has an aromatizing and relaxing scent, but also is extremely reparative. You can put a drop o lavender ina tiny bit o olive oil and put it on areas in need o healing (greator dry and cracked lips).
