SOCIETY REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER 2017

These are the words that echoed in the entire campus of DPS from Zuzu and all his friends…as it was the

last month of the year 2017.

SAKSHI SPEEL BEE – SEMI FINALS:

Words are the currency of communication. A robust vocabulary improves all areas of communication — listening,

speaking, reading and writing.

Spelling competitions create an awareness of the necessity to spell and pronounce words correctly; it also develops

enthusiasm amongst students to learn new words.

Delhi Public School, Nadergul got an opportunity to host the 5th season of Sakshi India Spell Bee semi finals-the

most awaited English spelling contest in India.

Zuzu was surprised to see hundreds of students qualifying for the semifinals who have come from across the

Telangana State to our campus to write the exam.

Zuzu and his friends were excited to write the exam. Announcement of words were done Live from Sakshi TV

studio by the Bee Master. Students watched the live relay on the TV screen, listened to the words given by the Bee

Master and wrote the test.

Zuzu felt happy when he came to know that one of his friends has qualified for the finals of Sakshi Spell Bee and

four of his friends have qualified for the Math Bee. It’s really a stupendous milestone for Delhi Public School.

Zuzu and all his friends are eagerly waiting for the finals to be conducted on 7th of January 2018.

SCIENCE WEEK:

To initiate scientific skills, critical thinking, and inquisitiveness among the learners and to give tribute to all the

great scientists, Delhi Public School, Nadergul celebrated science week in the second week of December with

great enthusiasm.

Children of all levels from classes 1 to 7 actively participated and explored their scientific knowledge.

Special assemblies were conducted for the entire week to instill the seed of curiosity and to develop scientific

attitude.

Zuzu and his friends enjoyed watching and also doing simple science experiments with lot of fun. They also

learned the scientific principle involved behind them. In addition to that students also got an insight into the

contribution of our own nation’s scientists towards the scientific community.

BEST ORATOR COMPETITION:

"The art of communication is the language of leadership." —James Humes

Communication is the backbone of our society. It allows us to form connections, influence decisions, and motivate

change. Public speaking is one of the most important forms of communication.

Delhi Public school understands the importance of communication for the young ones in their future, hence best

orator competition was conducted for the grades 3 to 5 to instill the seed of an orator.

Topics like- My dad, my super hero; My mom, my Angel; etc, were announced 2 days prior to the competition.

Zuzu and all of us enjoyed listening to our buddies.

MATH WEEK:

“Math may not teach me how to add love or subtract hate in our lives, but it gives me hopes that every problem

has a solution”

In the third week of December, we celebrated math week with great zeal and enthusiasm. Special assemblies were

conducted to create more interest and develop logical thinking among the students. Zuzu and his friends were quite

busy in solving different number puzzles. They really had a great fun, not only that Zuzu also learned few simple

and interesting tricks and techniques in mathematics.

The most interesting part that Zuzu liked was a rap song sung by a grade 5 student on numbers. Zuzu has never

thought that math can also be taught through songs and poems, Sounds so amazing right!!!

TEACHER RATIFICATION BY DPS SOCIETY MEMBERS:

Zuzu was enthralled to see teachers preparing themselves for the ratification like the way students prepare for their

exams. And of course, our DPS teachers passed all the assessments with flying colours.

We had an eminent personality from the DPS society Professor Mohammad Miyan to do the ratification. It was an

honour for the school to host an eminent educationist like him in the school.

TRINITY GESE (Graded Examination in Spoken English):

The Trinity Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE) is a widely recognized test of speaking in English.

Universities, multi-national companies and several thousand schools and colleges around the world use these

examinations.

Trinity’s Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE) are one-to-one, face-to-face assessments of speaking

and listening skills with a Trinity examiner.

Delhi Public School, Nadergul made a great endeavor in its First International Examination with 78% of

students securing A-grade( 50 out of 64) and remaining 22% of students securing B-grade. It really speaks about

our standard of communication in the school, all credits go to our eminent teachers who have trained us so well

within a short period of time.

Zuzu had a really great time in a short chat with the Trinity examiner- Mr. Barry. He appreciated our children

saying that kids in our school have vast knowledge on different areas and they are very comfortable in expressing

themselves. This added another milestone in the path of DPS Nadergul journey.

INTER DISTRICT ROLLER SKATING CHAMPIONSHIP 2017:

Another laurel bagged by our students in the field of Skating

In the “Telangana State -4th Inter District Roller Skating Championship 2017”, our children bagged one Gold, two

Silver and one Bronze medal, once again leaving a remarkable glory.

FIRST BUT A LEADING STEP INTO SEPAK TAKRAW

Sepak takraw differs from the similar sport of Foot volley in its use of a rattan ball and only allowing players to

use their feet, knee, and chest and head to touch the ball. It is a popular sport in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

It is a recognized sport by Indian Olympic Association and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

Chaaru Varshini of grade 7 has qualified for the Sub Junior National Sepak takraw sport giving Nadergul another

in its cap among the field of sports.

SECOND PARENT ONLINE SURVEY:

Parents are the real stakeholders of any educational institution, and DPS strongly believes in this, giving equal

importance to parents in the all round development of the child by taking their views and suggestions on a regular

basis.

Being a Tech-advanced school, our school posts an online survey link to all the parents to get the feedback from

them.

All parents along with Zuzu’s, participated actively in the survey.

ANNUAL SPORTS MEET- Kheloutsav-2017 “Instilling values through sports” :

The entire month, zuzu and all his friends from pre-primary tiny tots to grade 7 and the entire team of DPS were

busy in getting ready for the school’s First Annual Sports meet.

It was a moment of immense pride to have the first speaker of Telangana state, Sir Konda Madhu Sudhan Chary as

the Chief Guest and Mr.Hemachandra and Ms. Sravana Bhargavi, renowned play back singers, as the Guest of

Honour.

Chairman of the school Mr. Komariah, Director Ms. Pallavi, Academic Director Dr. T.Sudha, Principal of DPS

Nacharam Ms. Sunita Rao were the other dignitaries for the day.

The chief guest and the guest of honor delivered impactful speeches and encouraged the students to dream big and

follow their goals with perseverance, discipline and ethics.

You will be surprised to know that our sports day Mascot was none other than our own ZUZU…..the panda.

Zuzu and his parents were thrilled to see such an awesome performance by all the students. Students showed

various displays like Basketball dribbling, Taekwondo, Nanchak, Yoga, and many more acts related to sports day

theme Kheloutsav-instilling values through sports. All the vivacious energies of children transformed the entire

campus colorful.

Amidst all the swirling and twirling action, the most reminiscent act enjoyed by Zuzu was the arrival of torch

bearers through Zip- liners……Wow!!! That was really an adventurous act. Parents couldn’t stop applauding.

At the end Zuzu’s parents enjoyed the special DJ for parents with great zeal and enthusiasm.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION BY PRE-PRIMARY TINY TOTS:

Jingle bells, jingle bells

Oh, what fun

In a one-horse open sleigh

MEERY CHRISTMAS….

Wow!!! It’s the Christmas month. Zuzu was excited a lot to see the bells, tiny Santas, Christmas tree, carol songs,

goody bags and many more all around in the school campus.

Our Pre-primary tiny tots of DPS, celebrated Christmas with great fervor.

Within their class rooms they made mini santa caps, socks, bells, etc as a part of Christmas celebrations and

carried them to their home with great joy.

JOY OF GIVING WEEK:

No act of kindness, no matter

how small, is ever wasted!

The joy of giving week is a festival of Philanthropy, celebrated in the last week of December at DPS, Nadergul

campus.

Zuzu and all his friends with great zeal and warm heart joined together for a noble cause and collected required

materials for the under privileged people. Children from all levels, from our tiny pre-primary tots to grade 7

including the school staff and management contributed for this noble cause. All the proceeds would be distributed

to the children of 20 orphanages on Jan 8th.

So with these happy tidings ZuZu on behalf of the school wishes all of you a Happy New year.
