N. S. S Special
Camp
2017-18
As Swami Vivekananda said, the county's prosperity
is to be seen in youth. A small effort to train such
young people physically and intellectually was
carried out at our college's N. S. S unit.
Principal Pro. Janardhan Bhat assigned Dr. Satish
Naik, assistant professor, political science
department and Pro. Dattatreya M. Hegde,
assistant professor, mathematics department the
responsibility of selecting and training the N.S.S unit
volunteers at our college which has over three
thousand students. Amruta K. Nail, Ganesh C. Naik,
Swathi Hegde, Mohammed A. Sab were made the
leaders of National Service Scheme unit -1 and unit
-2 on the basis of the service excellence for the last
two years.
This year N. S. S planners and college development
committee chairperson sanmanya sri.
Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri initiated N. S. S works
by planting a plants in newly built college. With
students cooperation and principal advocacy our N.
S. S team cleaned up the campus, cleaned the
primary school premises, clean up the environment
day tree line, attended the seed ball program
hosted by Youth for Seva, celebrated Raksha
Bandhan at Ishwari university, Independence Day,
the construction of Navagraha forest, the
cleanliness of newly built college, Teacher's day,
Gandhi Jayanti, Kannada Rajyotsava, world
children's day ,cleanliness of Jagannatheshwara
temple at Chipagi, the free health check and the
programme on ophthalmology. The construction of
the terrace park, world AIDS day, world Human
Rights day, world Farmer 's day, forest fire in the
village of Sirsi taluk to create fire line and burnt it
with the guidance of forest officer, Swami
Vivekananda's 155 th birthday, evil controllers,
workshop of competitive examination, workshop of
drugs and prohibition were held.
Dr. Satish Naik also took charge of National Youth
Saptha from 12/01/2018 to 18/01/2018 as
coordinator. N. S. S team celebrated the 155th
birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda with a
festive spirit on 17/01/2018. This was followed by a
drawing, speech and essay competitions.
Mohammed A Sab, Nagaraj Naik, Tanuja Gowda,
Swathi Naik of our N. S. S unit participated in
national level integration camp held at Forest
College Sirsi.
This year's N. S. S annual special camp was held at
Government Higher Primary school Kadabala from
14/02/2018 to 22/02/2018. The program was
chaired by the college's development committee
chairperson Sri. Vishveshwara Hegde Kageri,
legislator of Sirsi - Siddapur assembly constituency.
The opening was accomplished by hoisting the flag
and lighting the lamp. Sri. G. N. Hegde Jilla
panchayat member was present in this event. The
presidency was chaired by Pro. Janardhan Bhat,
Principal of college. Guests of the event were mrs.
Anusuya A. Hegde, Gram Panchayat president
Salkani, Mr. Narayan Hegde, Gram Panchayat vice
president Salkani, Sri. Vighneshwar Naik, president
SDMC Govt. Higher Primary School Kadabala. Dr.
Satish Naik and Pro. Dattatreya Hegde, N. S. S
program officers unit -1 and unit -2 were in charge
of the program. Pro. B. K. Ravikumar, Pro. Krishna
Poojari, Pro. Tara Naik, Pro. Divya Hegde were co-
heir. Everyday morning flag hoisting, yoga,
shramadana, lecture and cultural programs were
held for seven consecutive days.
Construction of the ingu gundi, clean up and
painting of Shanteshwari temple Kadabala were
done mainly as shramadana. On the way to
Kadambeshwara temple, a historical site, the road
was cleaned. In Kadabala, toilet construction,
cleanliness and voting were made to known
through jatha. And the cleanliness of the toilet was
also observed in the homes of Kadabala. Similarly a
voter awareness campaign was carried out at the
Salkani village and informed by street skit and
gardening around the Kadabala school campus. All
programs were praised by locals and elites.
In the afternoon there were lectture programs
every day. The resource persons Sri. Narayan Bhat,
district consultant, Swatch Bharat mission, Sri.
Jagadeesh Naik, consultant, Pandit public Hospital
Sirsi, Sri. B. L Nagesh, IPS Sirsi ,Sri. K. K Bhat, Dr.
Vinayak Hebbar gave lectures on "sanitary and
clean India "," Drugs and infections","compititive
exams "," Yoga and Pranayama in memory
enhancement "," Green food " respectively.
The cultural festival was held every evening. The
state and national level award winning drama was
played. The drama competition was organised on
the advice of Pro. Vijayalakshmi Danareddy.
Dr. Satish Naik, presided over the Closing Ceremony.
Mr. Raju Mogaveer, assistant commissioner, Sirsi
consulted with the students. The chief guests were
Anusuya Hegde, President Gram panchayat Salkani,
Vighneshwar Naik, SDMC chair person, Govt higher
primary school Kadabala, Mat. Bhagya Hegde.
