AN IMPORTANT CHALLENGE WAS TO CONTROL DEFORMATIONS CAUSED BY THE DEEPEXCAVATIONS TO AVOID DAMAGE OF IMPORTANT, SETTLEMENT-SENSITIVE, ADJACENT BUILDINGS.
