MULYAN PUBLIC SCHOOL NEWSLETTER Dear Parents, As the term quickly winds down, it is hard to believe that there is only one week to go. I would like to extend the school’s thanks to the many parents/carers and others who have assisted us in the many quality programs that we run. We have had assistance in the classrooms, on the sports field and for excursions. Without the wonderful support of so many people it would not be possible to run the many quality programs that we do. Thank you for all your assistance. It has been greatly appreciated by all the students, staff and wider community of Mulyan Public School. This will be the last newsletter for Term 2 and I would like to wish everybody a safe and relaxing holiday. Term 3 for all students will commence on Tuesday, 15th July. The teachers will be at school on Monday, 14th July and will be taking part in Professional Learning Activities. Congratulations to all our Cross Country runners who took part in the Western Area Cross Country Carnival in Wellington recently. These students competed against runners from right across the western part of the state. All our students competed with great enthusiasm and put in their best efforts. Congratulations, in particular, to Bailey Callaghan who placed 3rd in his event and will now go on to the State Cross Country in Sydney next term. Our boys’ soccer team will compete in the Regional Carnival in Orange on Friday, 27th June. At this carnival, they will play at least 3 games to determine if they then move on to the next level of this state-wide knockout. Thank you to Ewen and Trish Dun who have done a fabulous job coaching this team and have given up many lunch hours to do so. The junior boys’ Richardson Cup team will travel to Dubbo on Wednesday, 25th June. They will play against teams from right across the western area. I know they have been training hard and should give a good account of themselves. Thank you to Mr Ryan Mr Murray & Mr Negus who have been training the boys. Congratulations to Niar Collett who was recently selected in the Western Area Netball team. The state carnival will be held in Western Sydney later this year. Well done, Niar! Congratulations to Mrs Bronwyn Johnson who organised a wonderful Infants Athletics Carnival last week. Also thank you to the teachers and the many parents who helped out on the day. The students had a marvellous time! Changes to parking signs in Myall St. Cowra Council recently changed parking regulations in front of the Infants Department. There is a new drop off zone west of the School Crossing in Myall St in the morning from 8am to 9.30am. The “No Parking” rule is: you must not stop on a length of road to which a “No Parking” sign applies unless you are dropping off or picking up passengers or goods. You cannot stop for longer than 2 minutes. Fine is $169 + loss of 2 demerit points. Last week, our dance group performed at the Bathurst Dance Festival along with other groups from as far away as Nyngan. According to all reports and the feedback I received, our students were great ambassadors and all groups performed beautifully during rehearsals and on the night.
