A Word From The Pastor/Palabras del Párroco Dear Parish Family,

Greetings in the Lord! Our parish welcomes Rev. Mr. Matthew Martinelli, ordained deacon this past Saturday, as he continues his studies for priesthood in the diocese of Metuchen. Deacon Matthew is a seminarian in his third year of theology at St. Vincent Seminary, Latrobe, PA. He will arrive this coming week and share summer schedule with us before returning to seminary studies in September and will join our parish Christmas and Easter celebrations prior to his ordination to priesthood and first assignment. Please extend a warm greeting to him as he begins this coming weekend at all masses and continue praying for vocations to priesthood and religious life from among our wonderful youth. May the Holy Spirit bless our lives, our homes and our world as we celebrate Pentecost Sunday today and remember the birth of the church through the coming of the Paraclete upon the apostles. Congratulations to our Emaus retreat movement and the 60 candidates who experienced renewed faith and commitment the Lord over these 3 days! “Jesus Christ has risen! Querida Familia Parroquial, ¡Saludos en el Señor! Nuestra parroquia le da la bienvenida al reverendo Matthew Martinelli, diácono ordenado el pasado sábado, mientras continúa sus estudios para el sacerdocio en la diócesis de Metuchen. Diácono Matthew es un seminarista en su tercer año de teología en el Seminario St. Vincent, Latrobe, PA. Él llegará en esta semana y compartirá el horario de verano con nosotros antes de regresar a los estudios del seminario en septiembre y se unirá a las celebraciones de Navidad y Semana Santa de nuestra parroquia antes de su ordenación al sacerdocio y su primera asignación. ALL ARE SENT Fifty days after Easter Sunday we celebrate the fulfillment of all God’s promises in the feast of Pentecost, a feast that has sometimes been called the birthday of the church. One last time we are reminded that we Christians have received the Holy Spirit, not for our own benefit, but to enable us to follow our Christian vocation. The centerpiece of the scriptures for Pentecost is the account in Acts of the Apostles of the sending of the Holy Spirit to the disciples. The other readings for this Sunday help us to understand what it means to live out our Christian vocation. Paul’s letter shows us the gifts and fruits that the Holy Spirit gives to us. John’s Gospel reminds us that Jesus has sent all his disciples to share his forgiveness and peace, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

celebramos el cumplimiento de todas las promesas de Dios en el Domingo de
