The term church means a group Christians praying /worshiping God

Jesus Christ has followers called Christians or disciples

The word gospel means God‟s good news

The followers of Jesus started coming together when Jesus begun preaching,

teaching and making miracles.

Before Jesus ascended „went‟ to heaven, he promised his disciple a helper

The day the Holy Spirit came is called the Pentecost day

THE DEATH OF STEPHEN

Stephen was another man who spread the word of God.

THE DISTRICT LEVEL (LCV)

This level is headed by the chairperson LCV.

The district council consists of the following people

Note;

the political head of the local council in a district is called “ Mayor”

the local councils can make laws known as “by laws”

The local council comprises of 10 members.

The smallest unit of the district is “village”

RESIDENT DISTRICT COMMISSIONER (RDC)

RDC is the person who represents the president in the district .he / she is appointed

by the president

Roles of the RDC

Chairs the District security committee

Represent the president in the District

Makes sure that the government policies are implemented in the District

Monitors the use of the government money in the district

DISTRICT INTERNAL SECURITY OFFICER (DISO)

DISO is also appointed by the president.

Roles of the DISO

Collects information about people who may cause insecurity in the district

and report them to the security peronels e.g. police and army

2. CIVIC LEADERS

These are leaders who head government departments/civil servants.

They are also appointed by the government

Advises crop farmers to plant more food crop and cash crops

e) District Education Officer(DEO)

Roles of the DEO

DEO is the head of all education services in the district

Make sure that education programmes are followed by all education

institution in the district

Ensures that the education standards of the district improves

Listen to cases and make judgements

g) District veterinary Officer(DVO)

The DVO gives advice to farmer on how to care for their animals
