School celebrated Van Mahotsav Aug 2, 2019

Chool students celebrated Van Mahotsav in the

school premises.The chief guests for the

program were S. Nirmal Singh, President, Chief

Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society Amritsar, S.

Kulvir Singh Sidhu (Retd. I.A.S), S. M.P.S. Aulakh

(Retd. D.G.P) Prof. Balwinder Singh, Dr. H.M.

Singh, Col. Jaimal Singh, S. Iqbal Singh Lalpura

(Retd. I.P.S) and other dignitaries from Amritsar. S.

Dalip Singh Banga, President, Local Committee

Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society and S.

Gurjot Singh Sawhney, Vice President and Member

Incharge, S. T.P. Singh, Honorary Secretary, Dr.

Prabhjot Kaur, Member Incharge, School Managing

Committee and S. Inderjit Singh also graced the

occasion and participated in tree plantation drive.

The program commenced with school shabad ‘Deh

Shiva Bar Mohe Ahe’ by the school choir. The

students presented songs, poems and speeches to

generate awareness towards tree plantation. The

Nukkad Natak Club students also presented a skit

‘Ab Nhi toh Kab’ conveying the message to all and

sundry towards the environmental conservation. S.

Nirmal Singh Ji motivated the students and

teachers to follow the sacred path shown by

Gurbani . Dr. Ms. Prabhjot Kaur gave vote of

thanks to the honorable guests to share their

valuable time and attend the event. .

chool organized its Investiture ceremony of the

school cabinet and Installation Ceremony for

newly elected office bearers of Interact Club for the

year 2019-2020 in its premises. Rotarian Ms.

Surinder Paul Kaur, President Rotary Club of

Chandigarh, along with other Rotarians was the

guest of honor. The ceremony commenced with

National Anthem. The Principal Mrs. Pritinder Kaur,

in her welcome address said that these newly

elected young administrators would be imbibed with

the necessary skills of leadership in the ensuring

year to make them independent decision makers.

The school choir presented shabad ‘Deh Shiva Bar

Mohe Ahe’ thereafter. Raghav Madan and Nancy

were selected as Head boy and Head Girl of the

school. The students also put up a Nukkad Natak

on environmental concern ‘Ab Nhi Toh Kab’ that

was highly appreciated by the audience. A report

on the Interact club’s activities and achievements

for the session 2018-2019, along with a P.P.T., was

presented by Gurbani of XI Arts, the outgoing

President Interact Club. The new President Guneet

Kaur of class X introduced her team and promised

to work dedicatedly to achieve excellence in

accomplishing proposed activities for the new

session. The President Rotarian, Ms. Surinder Paul

Kaur, Members of School Managing Committee

and Principal pinned up the badges to new office

bearers of Interact Club and Cabinet Members. Ms.

Surinder Paul Kaur congratulated and encouraged

them to push their energy beyond any limitations to

serve humanity globally. Dr. Paramjit Singh also

appreciated Rotary Club Chandigarh’s initiative to

induce service before self motto in the minds of

youth. Ms. Surinder Paul Kaur, Rtn. Sonia Dhilon,

Members of School Managing Committee and

Principal also planted saplings in the school

premises.

were donning the attires of great leaders of India

and were very confident in expressing their role of

Bhagat Singh, Sarojini Naidu, Sushma Swaraj,

Narender Modi, Manmohan Singh, Begam Hazarat

Mohd. and Baba Ram Dev. etc. Bhavya and

Ananya of class III, Avneet Singh of I, Krishna of III

and Tanvir of II got first, second and third positions

respectively.

he Tiny Tots were engaged in a fancy dress competition, a patriotic group song and a rakhi

making activity. They also enjoyed umbrella dance to celebrate ongoing rainy season in its premises. The activities were held to inculcate public speaking and presentation skills amongst little kids along with providing a platform to express their talent and enjoy their schooling.

chool Celebrated 73rd Independence Day in its premises with zeal and patriotism. The

celebrations commenced with Flag Hoisting byHonorable S. Dalip Singh Banga, President school Management Committee, Dr. Paramjit Singh,Member Incharge and other Members of school Management Committee, followed by National Anthem. Students participated in these celebrations with full of patriotic fervor and adoration by singing patriotic songs, poem and folk dance. Guneet of class X, gave a speech highlighting India’s achievements in all fields on

international scenario. Dr. Paramjit Singh addressed the gathering with his thought provoking speech. The event came to an end by distributing sweets. The NSS boys contingent also participated in Independence day Parade at Sector -17, Parade ground ,UT, where they brought pride by winning 1st Position in this prestigious event.

Workshop for Sensitizing Students

ealth club held workshop for VI to IX classes by Mrs. Gurbaksh Rawat and her team

members Manipal Dhaliwal, Ambika Dhaliwal, Anika Dhaliwal and Shikha Bhanot who are working on social project ‘Gluten Free G.O.’. The initiative was taken up for sensitizing students about celiac disease that cause different allergies and health hazards amongst children. The resource person interacted with children and informed them about symptoms, prevention and precaution in case if someone is diagnosed with celiac disease. The team also conducted blood test of the students free of cost.

Tree plantation campaign ‘One Child

One Plant’ by Eco Club Aug 27, 2019

he students of Eco Club held a tree plantation campaign ‘One Child One Plant’ in its

premises. The Chief guests for the program were Rtn. Ms. Puneet K. Singh, President, Inner Wheel Rotary Club of Chandigarh. Rtn. Ms. Usha Saboo, Director Inner Wheel Rotary Club and other Rotarians. They all participated in tree plantation in the premises also. The students presented inspirational speech, poem, song and a skit to boost tree plantation and cleanliness campaign amongst all. Ms. Puneet K. Singh got highly appreciative of the students’ concern about their environment at conservation and she further encouraged them to do their bit for the cause.

Activities to Commemorate the

150th Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

n array of activities to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in its

premises from 26th to 30th August. The endeavor was to promote and inculcate the Gandhian thought, principals, values and ideas to encourage students to always be with the truth and have non-violent path towards their progress. An essay writing competition, poem recitation and a painting competition were organized to sensitize students about the cause.
