What is Employability A set of achievements skills, understandings and
personal attributes that make graduates more likely to gain employment and be successful in their chosen occupations, which benefits themselves, the workforce, the community and the economy.
Employability is not the same as gaining a graduate job, rather it implies something about the capacity of the graduate to function in a job and be able to move between jobs, thus remaining employable throughout their life.
It requires four broad and inter-related components:
Understanding Skilful practices (including deployment of skills) Efficacy beliefs (including students views of
themselves) Meta-cognition (including self-awareness and a
capacity to reflect on learning)
Employability Skills
A set of attributes, skills and knowledge that all labour market participants should possess to ensurethey have the capability of being effective inthe workplace.
Modern Employability Skills
Modern Employability skills can be referred as soft skills, generic skills, enabling skills
or key competencies.
