Mobile phones have been very important gadgets nowadays. It’s served more than

communication tools. When calling someone, if they didn’t answered the phone, we

could leave a message on the voicemail. Voicemail commonly used by the older

generation than the young Malaysians which are prefer just to send SMS. Using

voicemail is practical which people can return the calls and messages promptly.

However, there are reasons for them who not favor using voicemail; for instance, the cost

for leaving voicemail is higher than sending SMS. Weak of remembering, having

meetings and calls from unknown numbers are the reasons for not using voicemail. No

doubt that SMS-ing is more popular than leaving voicemail which is for some people its

very cliché method. Yet, the writers on his own prefer to use voicemail as for him it is the

best way to interact with others.

In my prospect, sending SMS are a great deal more practical than leaving a voicemail.

Sending SMS are easier, it can be send within a minute, compared to leave a voicemail.

Voicemail takes minutes to call, wait for the instructions and it’s also take minutes for the

receiver to listen the voicemail. Besides, some people are very busy so they didn’t have

the time or not commit to memory to check out his voicemail. Undeniable, sometimes

using voicemail is more efficient than SMS. For instance, voicemail are vital for those

who are not good at SMS-ing. But, it is a very little of numbers whom can’t SMS-ing

well. Besides, SMS had been a phenomenon to the people all over the world. From a

magazine research, it’s stated that up to million people who rather SMS-ing than make a

call. In China for example, the teenagers are addicted to the simple message sending till

some of them like dying if they are not messaging for several hours. This shows that

SMS more favored by the populace to use all over the world. I on my own rather use

SMS than make a call or leaving a voicemail because sometimes the voicemail didn’t

listened by the receiver. Just imagine if the message we left is important but it then just

been neglected? By SMS, it would be a reminder as well as the receiver will not ignore

the message. I’m pretty sure that using SMS are more efficient than leave a voice

message.

My ideas on this issue are all the users use SMS to leave a message. Use no more

voice message. It will be easier for the users to receive a message. When the calls didn’t

answer, it will not go into the voice mailbox and reduces the cost of the user. In order still

vital to use voicemail, I would like to suggest the cost to leave the voice message

reduced. It will help the users to enjoy communicate with others.
