WELCOME TO MILTON KEYNES

Thanks to the support of thousands of runners, hundreds of volunteers, dozens of sponsors, our charity partners and the entire Milton Keynes community, 2nd & 3rd May 2020 will see the 9th edition of the MK Marathon!

The MK Marathon Weekend is the biggest mass participation race in the Home Counties and it reflects all the great things about Milton Keynes.

Runners from across the United Kingdom and from over 26 foreign countries will come to Milton Keynes to see the best that the city has to offer.

Since its inception in 2010, the MK Marathon quickly became a top 10 UK Marathon and has received the British Association of Road Races (BARR) GOLD AWARD for the last five years running.

The routes offer a mix of new and the old, and include the original Milton Keynes Village, Bradwell Abbey which dates back to the 14th Century, the Roman ruins at Bancroft, Bradwell Windmill which was built in c1810 and St Andrews, a 13th Century church in Manor Park.

The routes are very scenic and include numerous beautiful lakes, picturesque parks and even the meandering grand union canal. And of course, as you would expect, the marathon route takes in the famous Concrete Cows of Milton Keynes!

I was expecting to be running 26.2miles surrounded by concrete and, as many people joked, roundabouts.

In the main, that couldn't be further from the truth. The Milton Keynes marathon is a lovely course through country parks, around lakes, through woodlands and more.

The main thing to mention though is the support, which is absolutely tremendous around the whole course. Milton Keynes supporters are terrific and cover almost the whole course. It really does provide such a boost - and the bonus finish in the football stadium is terrific too. Highly recommend!

OUR PROMISE TO YOU1. When you become a charity partner we will promote your charity to our entrants via email and social media

2. We will list your charity on the ‘Run For Charity’ page of the event website with a link to your landing page

3. We will provide a registration link so that your runners can only register for your charity. We will also give you access to reporting so that you can see who has registered.

4. We will supply logos, images and event description copy for you to adapt and use on your website and in adverts.

RULES...1. Unsold places purchased for the 2020 event can be deferred to the 2021

event only. 2. Places can’t be cancelled after 31st March under any circumstances as the

race packs will be prepared and posted. These places can’t be deferred even if not used.

3. You cannot resell a place that has been registered to another runner. If the

runner is no longer able to take part, then you must email us to cancel the place on or before 31st March so that you can either defer the place or offer it to another runner.

4. We don’t offer charity places in the Superhero Fun Run or Marathon Relay. We do not offer transfers for these events so please do not buy any to sell on.

5. Any charities found reselling places will not be invited back as a charity partner.
