Second Collection

Catholic Campaign for Human Development

Please be generous in this week’s second collection for the Catholic Campaign for

Human Development. In the United States, one in seven people lives in poverty. With this collection you support programs that address

the causes of poverty and provide a sustainable future for those who are struggling across the

country. In addition, 25 percent of the funds collected

remains in our diocese to fund local anti-poverty projects. Please prayerfully consider how you can support this collection and world on the

PASTOR’S CORNER

It is with great joy and sense of gratitude that I celebrate this Thanksgiving Day with you, my beloved parishioners of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. It has been quite some time since my last message here in our parish bulletin. I think it is time to revisit this column and write something about our affairs as a community of faith.

Recently, we embarked on an initiative to update our sound system. We did a fundraising with the intention of raising funds for a new sound system. We did well with our fundraising last June 2017 and we are now ready to make our dream a reality. We are actually in the process of completing the project as I write this corner. Thank you so much for your generosity and support.

In conjunction with this project, I decided to embark on a little change in our physical setup inside the church. With the help of some of our Latino parishioners, we are able to put back the missing pews in front of the sanctuary to make it balanced just like before. The kneelers of the pews we just added are still not ready. We hope to have them before Christmas season.

I am so grateful for your support in making these wishes a reality. The Finance Council is now preparing to present a financial report about last year’s Parish Festival and a general report of our Parish Financial Status. I invite you to keep an eye on the bulletin as we publish the said report.

I believe that if we work together as a united community in the midst of our cultural diversity, we can accomplish many things. We only have to be conscious of the fact that we do all these in the name of God, not for our own selves. So, let us move forward and continue the journey. Esquina del Parroco Con gran alegría y sentido de gratitud celebro este Día de Acción de Gracias con ustedes, mis queridos feligreses de la Iglesia del Inmaculado Corazón de María. Ha pasado bastante tiempo desde mi último mensaje aquí en nuestro boletín parroquial. Creo que es hora de visitar esta columna y escribir algo sobre nuestros asuntos como una comunidad de fe.

Recientemente, nos embarcamos en una iniciativa para actualizar nuestro sistema de sonido. Hicimos una recaudación de fondos con la intención de recaudar fondos para un nuevo sistema de sonido. Lo hicimos bien con nuestra recaudación de fondos en junio de 2017 y ahora estamos listos para hacer realidad nuestro sueño. Estamos ya en el proceso de completar el proyecto mientras escribo este mensaje. Muchas gracias por su generosidad y apoyo.

Junto con este proyecto, decidí emprender un pequeño cambio en nuestra configuración física dentro de la iglesia. Con la ayuda de algunos de nuestros feligreses latinos, podemos volver a colocar las bancas que faltan frente al santuario para equilibrarlo como antes. Los arrodilladores de los bancos que acabamos de agregar todavía no están listos. Esperamos tenerlos antes de la temporada navideña.

Estoy muy agradecido por su apoyo para hacer realidad estos deseos. El Consejo de Finanzas se está preparando para presentar un informe financiero sobre el Festival Parroquial del año pasado y un informe general de nuestro estado financiero par-roquial. Los invito a que estén atentos al boletín mientras publicamos dicho informe.

Creo que, si trabajamos juntos como una comunidad unida en medio de nuestra diversidad cultural, podemos lograr muchas cosas. Solo tenemos que ser conscientes del hecho de que hacemos todo esto en nombre de Dios, no por nosotros mismos. Entonces, avancemos y continuemos el viaje. Que Dios los bendiga a todos mientras celebran con su familia y sus seres queridos el Día de Acción de Gracias de este año.
