Our goal was set at $41,700 and we currently have $43,709 committed to the Appeal. I just want to remind everyone that all monies collected beyond the set goal are returned for our use at the parish. Our goal was reached through the participation of 123 households, down from 161 participating in 2018. My sincerest gratitude to all those who have embraced the opportunity to support so many wonderful ministries within our diocese and to recognize that what affects one among us affects us all.

REFLECTION OF THE WEEK May 26, 2019 • 6th Sunday of Easter

Gospel SummaryIn this Gospel, Jesus prepared his disciples for his return to God. Jesus promised them that the Holy Spirit would live within them and provide strength and courage. The Spirit would always be available to help them as a counselor and advocate. Through the Spirit, they would recall the words and teachings of Jesus and even come to understand these things in a way that they could not before. In addition the disciples would receive peace from the Spirit. The peace of the Spirit would be a “shalom” kind of peace which provided a special inner serenity.Bringing the Gospel into Your FamilyJesus promised the Holy Spirit would be with us in the world until he returned for us. Take a look in your parish bulletin, local newspaper, or at school, work, or in your neighborhood and list as many examples as you can where you see the Holy Spirit at work in the world. If you notice someone on your list who needs to be reminded that the Spirit is active in their lives, call or visit them and let Jesus’ presence be seen through you.Discussion StartersThis week I saw the Holy Spirit’s presence in . . .One time I know the Holy Spirit was really guiding me was when . . .It helps me to know that Jesus is coming back for us especially when I think about . . .Questions of the Week

Adults: What difference has it made in your life when you made a decision in accord with Jesus’ teaching?Children: When will you have to make a decision this week? What will help you make a good decision?

Words of WisdomI alone cannot change the

world, but I can cast a stone across the water to create

many ripples. - Mother Theresa

As we approach Graduation season I thought that was a wonderful quote to share with you all.

Congratulations to the Graduating class of 2019.

As you go forth on your journey may you cast many

stones and enjoy much success in all you do.

We are looking forward to the busiest season of our year. There will be people visiting from all over the world. We will share some of our stories and enjoy theirs as well. It’s a fun time for us. If you are leaving for vacation during the summer we wish you God speed. We hope you will return with wonderful memories of happy times. You are always welcome to come in and browse. If you are looking for a special gift or just looking our staff is eager to assist you.

We are here 7 days a week - from 9-5PM.

If you are ill, we invite you to receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.

With this prayer we express to God our faith and humbly call upon his mercy. Afterward we participate in the Mass. We offer the Mass for the intentions of people that we write down before the service begins. Finally, we receive the offi cial Blessing of the Sick with the laying on of hands by the clergy. Together let us turn to God for all the suffering of the whole world.
