8.3 Indemnification Agreements for Facility and Grounds Usage Dr. Nicolas Wade, Superintendent of Schools, reviewed the need for the district to have indemnification agreements for individuals or outside entities that use district facilities and/or grounds. Currently, the district facilities and grounds are closed to outs ide groups, but the Village of Elmwood Park has made two (2) requests: The Fourth of July and a Drive-In Movie Night. Both would be held at Elmwood Park High School and, if able to be held, would practice social distanc ing.

Due to issues concerning coverage by insurance companies over holders' liability to COVID -19 and with the recommendation from the school district's legal counsel, future approvals for any use of facilities and/or grounds by outside groups must sign an indemnification agreement to limit the district's liability should COVID be contracted by attendees or participants during the scheduled usage. Having an indemnification agreement available does not automatically make available the district's facilities and grounds as there are health and safety concerns that are and will continue to be considered when approving usage requests. This document would be expected to be submitted with all of the other accompanying paperwork associated with a use of facilities request .

The use of the indemnification agreement should not be seen as temporary as this could very well be the practice for the foreseeable future .

8 .4 COVID-19 Update The COVID-19 Update was attached to the agenda for an update from Dr. Nicolas Wade, Superintendent of Schools, about the district's response to COVID-19 and its preparations for the 2020-21 school year . Information related to end of year operations and events have been communicated to students, staf f, and parents and can be found in the Update Center. The District has a committee that will rev iew guidelines and propose what school/grading will be like next year. Transportation , Liability Indemnificat ion Agreements, CARES Act funds, salaries, GPA and grading were discussed and will be reviewed.
