THE GENERALS…..2014/2015 BOWLING CHAMPIONS
The Bahamas First Generals of the Bankers’ Bowling League were indeed in
“general” form on Championship night (03/26/2015) at Mario’s Bowling
Palace. They were ready for battle. One by one they approached the lanes
with their bowling ball in hand. Step by step they released the ball with a
gentle glide. Strike, strike, spare, spare, everyone now knew the Generals
were here!
The fight was tough, the battle fierce, but the Generals prevailed by a score
of 865-840 in the deciding game of the championship and the BFG Generals
became the Champions of the 2014/2015 Bankers’ Bowling League. - Harvey Braithwaite
Rhonda S. Chipman-Johnson, Coordinator, Bahamas
Insurance Association (BIA) announced the winners

FIRST INSIGHT 2
Diversity: Diversity means difference; when we talk about diversity at Bahamas First, we are referring to the
many kinds of differences that exist between human beings, some of which show up in every interaction be-
tween two or more people. As human beings, we have different personalities, different identities, different
stories, different life experiences, and different perspectives.
Inclusion: We strive to create a culture of inclusion for our employees and our customers. This does not
mean that “anything goes,” but rather that everyone is willing and able to make their unique contribution
within the context of our Corporate Values.
Nurturing a culture of inclusion is not simply a matter of having good intentions, but a product of intentional
actions and behaviors. As an organization, as teams, and as individuals there are deliberate practices we
promote, in our pursuit of an inclusive experience for employees and customers. –Joe Gerstandt

STRESS (Living a Balanced Life!)……by Dr. Timothy Barrett
FIRST INSIGHT 3
Dr. Tim Barrett was our first Coffee Forum Speaker for the year and he focused on Stress Manage-ment. His definition of stress is…..”Any change that you have to adapt to”. He said that stress has many characteristics: 1. It can be beneficial at certain levels. 2. It is individual and subjective. 3. It can be expressed in physical and mental ways. 4. When coping capacity is exceeded, distress occurs. 5. Prolonged distress leads to burnout. 6. It is a reality of living in today’s world, so to ignore it, is at your own peril! Moreover, he said that, “wasting your time is wasting your life”. He encouraged us to “LOOK FOR THE BEAUTY, LOOK FOR THE GOOD and BE THANKFUL!”
Cedric Smith thanks Dr. Barrett. BF Staff listens attentively!
