The Shepherd Boy And The The Shepherd Boy And The WolfWolf

There was a boy that tended sheep, because this job was boring to him he decided to cry “wolf, wolf” so that villagers would come out to meet him. He continued to do this so that the villagers would come out to meet him. Shortly after this a wolf actually came out of the forest.

The boy cried out ‘wolf, wolf” and no one came out. He did it again and still no one came. Because the villagers had been fooled twice no one came. So the wolf ate the sheep.

The moral of the fable: No one will believe a liar, even when they are telling the truth.

The Ant and The DoveThe Ant and The Dove

An ant went to the bank of a river to quench it’s thirst and being carried away by the rush of the stream, was one point away from being drowning. A dove sitting on a tree overhanging the water plucked a leaf and let it fall into the stream close to her. The ant climbed onto it and floated safely to the bank.

Shortly afterwards a birdcatcher came and stood under the tree, laid his lime twigs for the Dove, which sat in the branches. The ant, perceiving his design, stung him in the foot. In the pain the birdcatcher threw down his twigs and the dove flew away.

The Moral of the fable is:One good turn deserves another.
