Pro Bono publico is derived from the Latin meaning ‘for the good of the public’. This is exactly the rationale of Pro Bono at Queen Mary.

We firmly believe in enriching our member’s experience during their time in London, while benefiting the community around us. We are the only group who provides opportunities for all of the following groups: aspiring solicitors, barristers and those aspiring for careers in other fields of work.

Introducing You to Pro Bono

Our Partnerships:

Value for Money with Your Pro Bono Membership

An Equal Voice for All

Pro Bono Members are regularly consulted for their views. In 2013 you will be able to have your say in a referendum on our group’s constitution.

Membership also enables you to receive a copy and write articles for our monthly newspaper, The Advocate. This is circulated to our partners and numerous Chambers and Law Firms.

Strong International Links

Since the summer of 2012 we have organised and partly fund 6 annual placements to 3 different countries: South Africa, Singapore and Ghana. These will be accompanied by a further two placements in India from 2013!

Bringing London to You

As a Pro Bono Member, you will be offered placements at four respected law firms and numerous charities of good causes. Find out more about these at our Freshers’ Evening on 25 Sept.

More details to be circulated via e-mail soon!
