Persistence paves the way for success

Success Story

Deepak Prajapat was a young boy who did not know what to do

and was directionless after he completed his 12th standard, in

the absence of guidance from his family. Although well-built

and having a good personality, he was idling his time doing

nothing other than roaming around with his friends. It was a

problem for his parents also, since they could not persuade him

to give up the company of his friends, who were of nuisance

value to them. One day, the faculty member of ICICI RSETI,

Udaipur visited his home as part of their mobilization drive and

told his parents about the free training programme organized

by RSETI and also informed Deepak to take the benefit of

training to become an entrepreneur. Deepak liked the idea and

enrolled himself for the training programme on “Plumbing and

Sanitary Works”. He took keen interest during the training,

trying to learn the skills that would help him succeed.

Upon completion of the training, he started working as a

freelancer working at different sites to sharpen his skills and

knowledge. After one year of gaining experience in the field, he

decided to set up his own shop in the year 2015 at a cost of Rs.3

Lakh by investing Rs.1 Lakh mobilised from family sources and

taking financial assistance of Rs.2 Lakh which included Rs.1.5

Lakh from HDFC Bank and Rs.50,000 from Rajasthan

Marudhara Grameen Bank. He also obtained the required

guidance in this regard from the RSETI.

After establishing his shop, he never looked back, as he had

done enough preparatory work and market survey to gain

experience and was also guided by the RSETI in setting up his

shop. His shop started doing well and secured some good

plumbing contracts since construction was going on in the

neighbourhood of his shop. Gradually, he was able to expand

his business and employed six persons to assist him. Presently,

he is getting a net income of Rs.30,000 per month and is now a

confident person and is pleased with his success. He owes a

debt of gratitude to ICICI RSETI, Udaipur, which gave him

necessary skills and guidance at the right time to start his

career, as otherwise he would have gone astray. He attributes

his success to constant learning as he kept himself updated with

the latest developments in the field. Moreover, he believes in

giving quality products and personalized service to each and

every client, which has brought him lot of goodwill and

increased business.
