I chose the name because a lot of students find sports interesting and there is not a lot of information about sports in school or college for students. The word ‘sports’ was written in bubbly writing so it added to the effect of drawing attention to the magazine. I wrote the word ‘for’ as ‘4’. This is because that is the way teenagers abbreviate their words when they text each other so it relates to them. Finally the word ‘students’ was written in cursive writing. The masthead of the magazine is called Being a Student. Originally the masthead was Sports 4 students. I chose the name because a lot of students find sports interesting and there is not a lot of information about sports in school or college for students. My Masthead was very large so it drew attention to the magazine because that’s the first thing the readers notice. This was because when students are at school that is how they would write. It really showed students (the target audience) that it is aimed for them. It also reminded them that the magazine is educational.

After research I decided to change the whole front cover of my magazine.

Colour-

The background is dark and it gives an urban feel.

The masthead is yellow which contrast well with black.

The cover lines are coloured differently and all the colours go well with black. This gives the magazine more energy.

Coverline-

There is more than one cover line. They are all different colours and sizes. The extra designs draws attention to the coverline aswell because it coverlines are significantly smaller than the masthead compensates to add attention to it.

Masthead-

The masthead is large plain and simple. It is a student magazine so it doesn’t need to be very fancy. It is behind the main image so the magazine must be popular and confident.

Main Image-

The main image is large and simple. It gives the whole idea of the magazine by giving the model a book to hold. Part of the image is in front of the masthead so it makes the main image seem even larger.
