About Me (and why it’s worth listening to what I have to say!)

I’m a clinical psychologist. During my career, I had several specialties, including

neuropsychology, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and group therapy. I learned a LOT

about what makes people tick from listening carefully to my patients over the years. For

almost three decades I had a private therapy practice, where I worked with adults,

teenagers, children, couples, and groups.

Although I enjoyed my work for decades, as you can see from the picture, I eventually

got burned out from doing therapy hour after hour. I yearned to have some freedom

to work from anywhere, and not always be stuck in the same office.

So I became a coach. I loved coaching and loved my clients, and I especially loved

having the freedom to coach from anywhere, but soon I realized that I was running

into a lot of problems.

And that’s not all that bothered me. I wonder if you’ve secretly had the same concerns

about coaching as I did.



What is holding our clients back? Why do they (and we) procrastinate so much on those

long-term projects that matter to us so much? Here’s why:



We are change agents, yet one of our biggest difficulties is to get people to change. Our clients get motivated, and excited, they feel the pain, and even pay us! Yet, they struggle to finish what they started out to do – change.

You may wonder, “How will my clients know that they are experiencing resistance?”

Again, Steven Pressfield comes to the rescue with a list that is depressingly long (this is

just one part of it):

In other words, it’s difficult for your clients to know that they are experiencing

resistance. It doesn’t look like resistance and it doesn’t feel like resistance.

How does resistance show up for you? When I’m about to sit down and work on

something difficult but important, I suddenly feel overwhelmingly hungry or tired.

Your teaching, coaching, or technique must have a method for breaking through that

resistance.



And...



Working with a talented web developer, I created software that allows you to provide

your clients with daily accountability within a small group setting, complete with

coaching, visual progress tracking, and other fun features.

And the exciting part is that I earned $455,000 in almost completely passive income

last year by using my solution in my own coaching business. And yes, that’s passive

income, as in: go ahead and take 10 months off. Or in my case, you can build a second

business.

In fact, that’s what I’ve done. When I saw that the income flowed in even when I was

out of commission for 6 months with back pain, surgery, divorce, and total misery; I

thought, what coach wouldn’t want this, too? (The passive income part, that is.)

This is a model that you can use to build your business step by step like I did. Start with

a small group, use these psychological and business principles, and grow and grow…

until, like me, you have over 400 paying members in your membership site, and you

don’t have to create new content month after month to keep it running.

I would have loved to take you all the way through the F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S. System, but it’s

too much for one ebook. So, I’ll show you enough so that you can decide whether you

want to learn more. Then I’ll give you resources on the last page, so that you can find

out more, if you wish.

Don’t worry:

I’m going to cover four of the principles in the F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S. System, and they are

“F,” “A,” “B” and “L.”



Let’s start with “F:”

Form a Small Online

Coaching Group.

This is your first step. If you’ve never formed a group, find a few people who are tired of

not finishing the important projects that really matter to them. I started with a group of

10, who were initially just planning on participating for 2 weeks.

My training for Finish Agent licensees dives into the reasons why small groups and

online groups are such an integral part of the formula. I also have further training on

how to get groups off the ground.



We’re more likely not to procrastinate if we know someone knows what we’re doing. In

other words, the accountability factor is heightened when a group is involved.

Now, on to the next step “A”:

One way to think about this is to ask this question: “Why do people come to me, and

what do I see them NOT doing?” “What am I most frustrated about with my clients?”

“What would make a big difference in their life if they just did a little every day, and

made progress?”



What if you are a fitness, health, productivity, organization,

meditation, or lifestyle coach?

Good point! At least half of our Finish Agent Licensees have coaching businesses

based on helping clients with their daily habits. The only long-term “project” is to

achieve the benefits of doing the daily habit consistently. For example, clients will

achieve weight loss, will feel younger and healthier, will feel less stress and more of a

sense of well being, if they practice the daily habits that ultimately lead to change. With

Finish Agent, you can give them the support while they work on being consistent with

their daily habit, and you can provide an ongoing program (NOT content based!), which

allows you to continue your relationship with them and continue to help them maintain

their gains or grow more.



What Coaching / Training Niche Works With Finish Agent?

Not every niche lends itself naturally to the “Get-it-Done” or “Habit-Creation” type of

group or membership site, the two main categories that work well using Finish Agent.

Ask yourself:

1. Are my clients working towards a long-term goal (e.g. build a business, free

their house of clutter, create more online presence, write a book or online copy to

fill a large website, finding a job, increase the size of their dental practice, engage

in regular marketing activities, make daily sales calls)?

2. Do my clients want to create and maintain better habits on a daily basis (e.g.

yoga, meditation, nutrition, physical fitness, prayer and other spiritual activities)?

Many other types of coaches and corporations have used Finish Agent. If you are

having difficulty answering these three questions, it’s possible that your particular

Why Are Small Daily Actions So Important?

term projects in fits and starts.

The tortoise, in the meantime,

What is a Small Daily Action?

I struggled for quite a while to

define what constitutes a “small

action,” but I finally realized

after helping literally thousands

of people to reach their goals,

that it’s this simple.

It is crucial to understand these

two apparently simple concepts

Now let’s look at “B.”

Base Your Program on Daily Accountability

DAILY accountability is at the heart of the Finish Agent System.

Human beings get overwhelmed in the face of a large endeavor. If we help our clients

understand how they really CAN take that tiny step, then they are more likely to take it.



Remember the Hare and the Tortoise?

If the hare had been taught about small, regular actions, and had been helped on his

journey to finish the race, he might have won!

You may be wondering, “How Can One Coach Manage Daily Accountability of a

Group?”

This question may have popped into your head. Don’t worry; I will address this when we

get to “L.” Just know that this is eminently doable, for many reasons!

Base Daily Accountability on Daily Questions

How do you decide on the daily questions? Ideally, they would be general enough that

you would rarely or ever change them, but specific enough that they enable your clients

to feel accountable.

To create the optimum question, start by asking yourself this question in regard to your

clients’ long-term projects or habit-changing goals:



Then, decide what kind of action each client could engage in on a daily basis in order

to build success.



Finally, think of ways that you

could turn those daily actions

into questions. These questions

are the ones that the client

would see and respond to daily.

YOU will be teaching your

clients to think this way when it

comes to getting things done or

maintaining their habits.



Finally, let’s turn to “L,” the last step of the F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S. System

for today:



You need technology for this system to work.

After all, your ultimate goal, (beyond helping your clients get real results within a first-

class “get-it-done” system and thriving interactive community for your clients), is to

leverage your time and work towards passive income. Technology is one of the keys

to obtaining passive income.

How YOU Can Use Available Technology

Let’s look at what’s available to you in terms of “low-tech” technology.

Forum – main topics with the ability for anyone to comment under the topics. So

the coach could have an area where everyone writes what they’ve done.

Listserv – an email to one person goes to everyone in the group. So people

could write to each other to say what they’ve done

Email – you could have your clients write you to tell you they did the task

Chat rooms – people could get on the chat room to say what they’ve done

Telephone – the coach gets on the phone with the group and they each review

what they’ve done and what their plans are for the coming week/month.

Private Facebook Groups – an ongoing discussion group about everything and

anything, where the topics continue to scroll down and become harder to find.

Of course, there are variations on all of these technologies, such as phone conferencing

lines that allow you to break up your large group into smaller groups for discussions or

brainstorming

These technologies all move you in the direction of putting your groups online. When

your groups are available online, and available 24-7 to people all over the world in

any time zone, you vastly increase your reach.



Limitations of These Technologies

But there are limitations to using these online technologies for daily accountability. The

coach needs to be able to keep track of who’s doing what and when, in order to

create useful accountability. And ideally, other group members could do the

same. None of these technologies, including private Facebook groups, help make that

easy.

Because of these

limitations in tracking

each individual’s

progress, group

members will not feel

as strongly

accountable.

And that’s bad.

Finish Agent to the Rescue!

So let’s look at Finish Agent, which is the technology I created that is specifically built

to solve all of the limitations of those technologies I mentioned above.



What follows is a rather in depth review of what Finish Agent offers

your business. If it is tmi (too much information), you have

permission to skim!

The Progress Grid – the Heart of Finish Agent

This is the central place where the “action” happens in Finish Agent. Although this

software has forums, chats, and many places for your class content, videos, audios,

PDFs and more, the Progress Grid is what sets Finish Agent apart.

As you can see, the group participants are listed in the left hand column. Across the top

of the grid are the dates. The checkmarks mean that this person has responded to at

least some of the daily questions. This tells the other group members (and the coach)

that they should go in and support that person in whatever way is helpful that day.

In order to answer the daily questions, your clients will click on today’s date, which is a

blank square. Then they see the daily questions, customized and created by YOU.

They fill in their answers, and when they hit “Enter,” a checkmark appears on the grid,

and shows everyone in the group that the client has posted. Then each person in the

group and the coach can read their responses for that day and offer

encouragement, commiseration, support or advice.

This daily interactivity about “the work” is what makes Finish Agent so effective in

forming communities. Group members love to receive comments and encouragement

each day about taking their small daily action step(s). It’s only about 5-10 minutes a day

for each person, but the rewards are huge.

You decide how many times a week you want to add your comments or questions. As

you can see, I’m commenting below, and as coach, I have a custom color in the bar

where my name is. In my first business, I hire other coaches (22 and adding more soon)

and ask them to coach 2-3 times a week. Hiring others to run the business is how I

earn passive income!

The reason that Finish Agent is so successful is that this frequent level of interaction

creates intimacy and bonding much more quickly than any online forum, and makes

participants feel more accountable for taking that little step each day. They become

attached to the group that is making such a difference and don’t want to leave.

Statistics don’t lie – here is what I got from a report from my software. For my academic

coaching membership site, for which members pay $87 or $97 a month,

49 people have been in my membership site for over 5 years

148 have stayed over 3 years

366 have stayed 2 years

And keep in mind that people leave and come back frequently, because they go out on

their own and realize quickly that they did much better in your system!

Here is how Finish Agent looks when a licensee has customized not only the banner,

These two slides show the depth of storage and display for your content. In the top

one, you can see the tabs across the top in the blue section. Each custom tab that you

create (with your own custom icon that we provide a range of choices for you) can have

many SUB-TABS. Each tab, including the main one, can be populated with DROP-

DOWN MODULES. Each module, for example, could include a class. In the

screenshot above, you can see the drop down modules with the “plus” circles to the

right of each one.

One drop-down module has been clicked on, and in it you can see the embedded video.

As you can see, the video has an intro at the top. You can add an introduction, ask

questions, or give them assignments. As you can see in the second slide, members can

answer in the comment space below, which is optional (you decide whether to show it

or not).

The Finish Agent Chat Rooms

You may have noticed in the first image of

Finish Agent that I showed you, that there

was something on the far right side.

That is the area for the chat rooms! Here is

what it looks like when you click on the slider

at the top right:



Many Finish Agent licensees find that an

and chats at every level of the site (at

your discretion), there are endless

options for how you can use them.
