History

• The first meeting attended by 32 producers, was a luncheon of The “Million Dollar Gang” at the 1927 NALU convention.

• The founders sought a forum dedicated to fostering a high standard, professional approach to life insurance sales.

Types of Membership

• Qualifying Member

Certified production approved for membership in a given year

• Qualifying & Life Member

Achieved Qualifying membership status for an aggregate of 10 years

• Life Member

Qualifying & Life Member who chooses not to submit certified Production.

2002 Requirements MDRT : Rs. 4,90,903 eligible commissions (EC) or

Rs. 9,81,805 (FYP)

Court of the Table : Rs. 14,72,700 or Rs. 29,45,400 (FYP)

Top of the Table : Rs. 28,98,648 (EC) or Rs. 57,97,295 (FYP)

A member of a local life underwriters association.

All MDRT qualifiers must reapply annually.

Eligible Commissions

Minimum 60% of eligible commission must come from:

• Individual / Group Life (Ordinary /term).

• Individual / Group Annuities

• Individual / Group Pensions

• Individual / Group Disability

• Individual / Group Accidental Death / Dismemberment

• Individual / Group critical illness

• Long – term care

MDRT Annual Meeting The MDRT Annual Meeting is the life insurance

industry’s sales meeting “par excellence”

Five day meeting features breakfast seminars, morning Main Platform presentations and afternoon and evening sessions

Approximately 5,000 MDRT qualifiers and special guests attend each year, including company CEO’s, company marketing officers and non-member general agents/managers.

Introduced at 1962 Annual Meeting by author, philosopher Dr. Mortimer Adler of “The Great Books of the Western World” fame.
