MasterKey Concrete Beams, Columns and Pad Foundations are three programs for the design of the Concrete components in structures analysed using MasterFrame, MasterPort or MasterFrame Flat Slab Construction.

MasterKey Concrete enables the Engineer to detail as part of the design process, thus integrating the analysis, design, detailing and drafting into a single operation. As the element is detailed the program automatically checks the proposed cage of reinforcement against the design requirements of BS 8110 or SABS 0100. Non-compliance is graphically highlighted on the screen enabling the Engineer to interactively change the reinforcement accordingly.

The programs are easy to use, extremely reliable, and very flexible. Using the automatic design options, a multi-storey plane or space frame with

alternate loading can be set up, analysed, designed and detailed in a few minutes. There are automated options for design, lapping and curtailment.

“ We have found the analysis, design, detailing and scheduling offered by MasterFrame and MasterKey Concrete design to be time saving and user friendly. They offer our clients very clear, accurate and splendidly presented drawings and schedules.”

Midland Design Services

MASTERKEYConcrete produces full RC detailed drawings either directly to the printer, or via AutoCAD as DXF drawings. Furthermore the programs can be linked to MasterRC and MasterRC bar scheduler to provide total integration of concrete analysis, design, detailing and scheduling thus further reducing design time and omitting information transfer errors from one process to the next.

OPERATIONAL FEATURES

User friendly graphical interface • Short learning curve • Intuitive operation • Check an existing structure or Design a new one • Interactively change reinforcement using the mouse • Intelligent automatic design using an extensive set of • fully customisable design and detailing parameters, thus giving you full control over the design process and enabling you to rapidly optimise your design

Design and detailing settings can be stored and • retrieved on subsequent jobs for consistency

Automatic design of current member, • current run or all visible members

Freedom to change and refine • automatically designed structures

Customised bar labelling method for • use in different countries

Instant updating of Graphics and Design Output with • every keystroke, for full control over the design process

Find Next Failure function to scan all • members in search of non-compliance

Change section properties on the fly and • transfer these back to MasterFrame

All Failures are highlighted graphically to • enable easy correction and optimisation

COMMON DESIGN FEATURES

Recta-parabolic stress block • Full dimensional checking on • percentages, gaps and covers

Detailed, reduced or summarised design • calculations including dimensioned RC details

Copy reinforcement details from one • member to another reducing variation

SLAB DESIGN FEATURES

Provided as part of the MasterKey Concrete Beam design • Quick simple and continuous slab design • Quick simple two-way slab panel design for simply • supported and torsionally restrained slabs

Rigorous design of one-way slabs using MasterFrame • and MasterKey Concrete Beam Design

BEAM DESIGN FEATURES

4 groups of bars per zone in up to 4 layers • Multiple shear reinforcement zones • Shear zone enhancement • Full torsional design • Automatic curtailment of bars • Drag and Drop curtailment of bars • Cranked or Cage & Splice bar arrangements • Various link arrangements to suit your detailing practice • Automatic matching of main reinforcement at supports • Several analysis elements may be combined into a single • super (structural) member for design and detailing

Rigorous Tee and ‘L’ Beam Design of sections • with neutral axis in the flange or in the web

Investigate the effects of different beam sizes at design • time by changing individual section dimensions

Dynamic Moment re-distribution on a member by • member basis. This means the degree of re-distribution can be made to suit the proposed reinforcement cage

Links in pairs for heavy design • Scan Beams for bars over a user • definable maximum bar length

POWERPADPOWERPAD includes all three modules with unlimited stand-alone column, pad • and slab design and a 15 member limit on integrated concrete design.

In POWERPAD• PLUS and POWERPADGOLD this limit is increased to 100 members

You can also remove the above limits by upgrading these modules at substantially reduced rates.•

Limit support moments and deflection • spans in beams with wide supports

Automatic inclusion of side bars • Inverted Tee and L beam design with full design of the nibs • including tension and torsional design of the main links

Rigorous design of one-way continuous • slabs analysed using MasterFrame

Quick design of Simple slabs provided as part • of MasterKey Concrete Beam design

COLUMN DESIGN FEATURES
