God D !! On February 27, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI said the following in a talk to the Pontifical Academy for Life:!“The sacred books, in fact, set out to show God's love for every human being even before he has been formed in his mother's womb. “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you" (Jer 1: 5), God said to the Prophet Jeremiah. And the Psalmist recognizes with gratitude: "You did form my inward parts, you did knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for you are fearful and wonderful. Wonderful are your works! You know me right well" (Ps 139[138]: 1314).!! These words acquire their full, rich meaning when one thinks that God inter-venes directly in the creation of the soul of every new human being. God's love does not differentiate between the newly conceived infant still in his or her mother's womb and the child or young person, or the adult and the elderly person. God does not dis-tinguish between them because he sees an impression of his own image and likeness (Gn 1: 26) in each one. He makes no distinctions because he perceives in all of them a reflection of the face of his Onlybegotten Son, whom "he chose... before the foun-dation of the world.... He destined us in love to be his sons... according to the purpose of his will" (Eph 1: 46).”!

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN:! “It’s Our Church, It’s Our Future”!
After prayerful reflection on the Diocesan Pastoral Vision and in preparation for the 150th Anniversary of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ogdensburg (2022), Bishop Terry R. LaValley has announced that a Diocesan!wide Capital Campaign “It’s Our Church, It’s Our Future” kicks off this spring.
The “It’s Our Church, It’s Our Future” Capital Campaign will have a goal of $16 million, which will in-clude $1.3 million for the 2018 Bishop’s Fund Appeal. Of the funds raised, 75% will remain at the Parish for its local needs such as programs and capital improvements. The remaining 25% benefits the entire Diocese supporting Re-tired Priests, Seminarians, Camp Guggenheim and St. Mary’s Cathedral. !
Guidance in Giving, Inc. (GIG) is working with the Diocese on this endeavor and have begun the groundwork with some parishes participating in the initial Block 1 Phase. “It’s Our Church, It’s Our Future” will run in three blocks beginning with Block 1 running April to June. Parishes in Block 2 participate from June to Septem-ber and campaigns for Parishes in Block 3 take place from September to November.!!
From the Pastor:!Spring has sprung . . . and May is just around the corner. ! In May we have a number of things coming up: Trinity Catholic Gala next week; Mother’s Day in a couple weeks; First Holy Communions throughout the month; Confirma-tion; May Crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary; some bap-tisms; a wedding; Memorial Day. !There’s plenty more to add to the list but in all this activity, both in and outside of church, remember that it is all in one way or another a cele-bration, a remembrance, a renewal, and an affirmation of the gift of life that comes from God. ~ Fr. Mark!
E !"#$" H&'( H&! )&! V& $"&+# $"# F!"- (!Join us for a Holy Hour of Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction this Friday (5/4) at St. Mary’s from 6:30 7:30 pm. The power of simply being present to the Lord in humble, attentive, and silent adoration is beyond description. The main intention of this Holy Hour, as with each First Friday, is to pray for vo-cations in the Church. But you can bring everything of concern in your life, in our parish, in our community and world before the Lord. It is an hour very well spent!!
