Remarks County staff continues to finalize data, analyzing several locations for the East County Human Services Building including: continuing in a lease at the Heritage Center, building a new facility at Baily's Crossroads SE Quad site, or buying and renovating a building within the Skyline complex. Options and comparisons will be presented to the Board of Supervisiors Spring 2018.

Project Name SE QUAD REDEVELOPMENT

Project Description Real Estate exchange, master planning, and rezoning to consolidate properties between Co. and private developer for the extension of Seminary Rd, county office site, and private residential development. The development site will provide an option to locate an approx. 180,000 SF county office facility with associated structured parking in the Bailey's Crossroads area.

Remarks Closing for the real estate exchange with Columbia Crossroads, LP occurred on 12/21/17. Hazmat abatement and demolition activities

for the on-site structures are underway and will be complete in late August 2018. Coordination with the Fairfax County Park Authority on

the options for interim use of the site is in progress.

Project Name Bailey's Crossroads Community Shelter

Project Description An approximate 23,000 SF replacement facility for the existing Bailey's Shelter. The new facility will be located at 5914 Seminary Road in Bailey's Crossroads.

Remarks The Site and Building permits were issued in 2/2018, and VDOT permit was approved on 3/2018. Construction bids were received in 1/2018 and the Notice-to-Proceed was issued on 3/12/18. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on 4/5/18 and construction is underway.

Project Name Patrick Henry Shelter

Project Description Demolition of the existing design and construction of a new facility to provide permanent supportive housing, located at 3080 Patrick Henry Drive, Falls Church.

Remarks Based on the condominium associations requirements of the existing shelter, options are being explored to renovate or build new on the current site. The

Building Design Branch met with Department of Planning and Zoning on 3/6/18, to discuss use determination and parking requirements. A meeting was

also held with Land Development Services on 4/12/18, to further discuss the site requirements.

Project Name Jefferson Fire Station

Project Description A new, approximately 20,000 SF, five bay fire station and associated site improvements at 3101 Hodge Place, Falls Church, and an off-site temporary fire station.

Remarks Notice to proceed was issued to Sorensen Gross (SG) on 2/7/18. SG completed asbestos abatement work on 4/13/18. An on-site meeting was held on 4/2/18 to review the contractor’s proposed location(s) for the Limit of Disturbance and Erosion & Sediment controls. Interior demolition work is in progress.

Project Description Renovation/expansion of the Police Operational Support Bureau located at 3911 Woodburn Road, Annandale and associated site improvements.

Remarks The Building Design Branch (BDB) approved the final space program and authorized AECOM to further develop the preferred concept. A meeting to review the massing and site layout was held on 3/16/18. AECOM incorporated comments from BDB and a meeting to review the updated massing and space layout was held with the using agency on 4/12/18. Comments from BDB and the using agency are due back to AECOM by 4/25/18.

Project Description Rehabilitation of the Holmes Run Pump Station located at 6623 Dearborn Drive in Falls Church. The existing building and equipment needs to be

evaluated for potential rehabilitation. The associated force main was recently lined.

Remarks The Wastewater Design and Construction Division and Wastewater Collection Division are currently determining the scope of work for this project. The Preliminary Engineering Study will begin in spring 2018.
