Propositions I

1. We each have an essential inner nature --- instinctoid, intrinsic, given, inner core.

2. Potentialities with a life history.

3. Inner core is biologically based and is weak rather than strong.

Easily overcome.

Hard to know, rather than easy.

4. Some characteristics are species wide.

5. Inner nature can be studied scientifically and objectively.

Propositions II

6. Aspects of inner nature can be actively repressed or forgotten.

7. Inner nature rarely dies.Will to health --- urge to grow --- pressure to self-actualization --- quest for identity.

8. Life is a continual series of choices.

9. Frustrated inner core leads to sickness.

10 Inner core is prior to good and evil.

11. Intrinsic guilt is good, even necessary.

Propositions III12. Ability to be aggressive and angry.13. Our depth can be good, beautiful or desirable.14. Without accepting essential core, no psychological health is possible.

Psychological health = growth, emotional maturity, individuation, productiveness, self-actualization, authenticity, full-humanness.

Self-actualization = acceptance and expression of the inner core and absence of ill (psychological) health.

Propositions IV

15. Best to bring out and encourage or recognize inner core, rather than suppress it.

Education must be directed both toward cultivation of controls and cultivation of spontaneity and expression.

16. Really free choice is directed toward good.

17. Acceptance of self + need gratification.Safety --- belongingness --- respect/esteem --- freedom for development (self-actualization).

Maturity: focusing on self-actualization.22. D-cognition: focusing on deficiency-needs. B-cognition: focusing on self-actualization or transcendence.23. D-love and B-love.
