Purchase of two Mower conditioners for Wastewater Plant East

PROPOSAL: That City Council approve the purchase of two John Deere Mower Conditioners fromCountryside Farm and Lawn of Springdale, AR off the state NJPA contract 031711 in the amount of $22,128.26each plus tax for a total of $48,572 for use by Wastewater Plant East.

RECOMMENDATION: Unit #589 is a 2005 Mower conditioner that was due for replacement in 2011 butwas pushed back. It is worn out and needs to be replaced now. Unit #5000 is a2007 mower conditioner thatwas due for replacement in 2013 but was pushed back. It also needs to be replaced now.

These mower conditioners are available from Countryside Farm and Lawn of Springdale, AR in the amount of$22,128.26 each plus tax.

Fleet recommends the purchase of two mower conditioners off state NJPA contract from Countryside Farm andLawn of Springdale, AR for a total amount of fi48,572.

BUDGET IMPACT: Both these units were budgeted for on the capital and operating sides. Sufficientreplacement funds have not been collected, but the shortfall will be covered by a replacement "credit" ongenerator 9025 which was moved out of motor pool last year. This credit is excess replacement funds collectedby Fleet but not used to replace the generator.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COT]NCIL OF THE CITY OFFAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:

Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby authorizesthe purchase of two (2) John Deere Mower-Conditioners from Countryside Farm and Lawn ofSpringdale, Arkansas for the Noland Wastewater Treatment Plant in the total amount of$48,572.00 plus any applicable tax pursuant to an NJPA cooperative purchasing agreement.
