Message from PTO regarding fundraisers

Thanks to the proceeds of our Boosterthon fundraisers, we have been able topurchase several items for our school!

- Our new electronic sign is being installed now after receiving a final approvalfrom the school system and more cooperative weather.

- We have purchased a collection of non-fiction ebooks that are available to the whole school.Each ebook also came with hard cover copies that are now available in our media center.

- Money was also used to purchase 218 new folding chairs as well as 2 storage racks.

- The sound system for the gym and cafeteria is next on the list to bepurchased and is currently in the approval process.

The Treasure Card sale went very well and the proceeds will be used for technologymaintenance and upgrades for our school.

Thank you again for everyone’s participation in helping Fairview!

College: Miami University (That’s in Ohio!)

How many years at Fairview: This is my 11th year full time at Fairview.

City you would like to visit: Bora Bora! It looks beautiful and I like saying the name!

Favorite restaurant: I love any restaurant because I don’t like to cook, grocery shop, or clean my kitchen, butItalian food is my favorite!

Who was your 2nd grade teacher? Mr. Hughes was my teacher in second grade and again in sixth grade (he musthave liked me a lot!) He is the reason that I love to read and why I became a teacher.

Favorite sport/team to watch: I love the Carolina Panthers! I grew up in Pittsburgh, so of course I love the

Steelers, too!

Why you became a teacher: I loved my second grade teacher. He taught things in such a fun way that I just lovedlearning. He read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and James and the Giant Peach to my class. I had never beforelistened to a chapter book. He also let me bring my little sister to school for half of a day, she was three. It reallydidn’t turn out well, she ate my crayons! He also let me bring my cat to school, also not a good idea! But it was fun!

Favorite thing to do when not at school: Wow! Too many to say! I love to read, travel, sail, socialize with myfriends, and do new things! Life is an adventure!

Most rewarding part about being a teacher: I love when students get excited about learning something new,there is nothing more exciting than watching children enjoy learning! I also love having an extended family!

Silliest fact about you: I still talk into a fan to hear the funny noise when no one is listening!
