March 2015 This is not the letter I thought I’d be writing to you at this time. However, it appears we are once again in the market for a priest. We’ve been at this point before and have managed to keep the ship afloat, so I’m asking all of you to think positively; to pray for your Vestry, and above all, to be patient with us. We will need your participation in the months ahead as we study ourselves to discern our needs and where we are headed. I’m of the opinion we shouldn’t be in a rush. As the old-timer said “Marry in haste, repent at leisure!” The calling of a priest to a congregation is a union (marriage) of sorts and we want our next one to be a success. The Scripture tell us in Jeremiah 29:11— “For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.” Your humble servant, Sarah Gose, Sr. Warden

March 2015

This is not the letter I thought I’d be writing to you at this time. However, it

appears we are once again in the market for a priest.

We’ve been at this point before and have managed to keep the ship afloat, so I’m

asking all of you to think positively; to pray for your Vestry, and above all, to be

patient with us. We will need your participation in the months ahead as we study

ourselves to discern our needs and where we are headed.

I’m of the opinion we shouldn’t be in a rush. As the old-timer said “Marry in

haste, repent at leisure!” The calling of a priest to a congregation is a union

(marriage) of sorts and we want our next one to be a success.

The Scripture tell us in Jeremiah 29:11— “For surely I know the plans I have for

you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future

with hope.”

Your humble servant, Sarah Gose, Sr. Warden

And from the Diocese: Good morning, I’ve had several folks ask if we have Lenten reflections/meditations to share this year. It wasn’t possible to produce something for 2015, but I have a proposal for you. As you journey through this Lenten season, write a short reflection/meditation or poem or take a photo-graph and send it to me. I will collect them and publish Lenten reflections/meditations next year. We need quite a bit of material, so please share – if you are not a writer or photographer, pass this along to folks in your parish who are good writers and good photographers. The one thing I ask is that the reflections/meditations not focus on a particular liturgical day or definition of Lent, but instead focus on Lenten themes – the possibilities are many, but here are a few words that might stimulate your thoughts – they are only beginning suggestions – so feel free to use one or more or none. Also feel free to send in more than one piece or photograph. Depending on how many written pieces and photographs we receive, we may need some extras!

Guidelines: Written pieces should be your original creations, between 300 and 500 words.

Photographs should also be your original creations – high resolution files suitable for print. All sorts of photographs are welcome, but if you have photographs of people, they must give permission for their photo to be used in our reflections or must have given blanket permission for use of the photo; the permission would be needed along with the photograph.

We give attribution to all writers and photographers. I’m looking forward to our Lenten project; I hope you are as well! Peace, Vikki Myers
