For By Grace Are You Saved Through Faith; And That Not Of Yourselves:

It Is The Gift Of God Not Of Works, Lest Any Man Should Boast.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which

God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Why Did Christ Die and Rise Again

Luke 24:45-53 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen

To Give Us A Message To Preach. [v.45-48]We are to Preach Repentance of Sins. [v.47a] We are to Preach Remission of Sins. [v.47b] To Give Us A Manifestation Of His Power. [v.49]His Power was Promised to us. His Power is to be Prayed for by us. His Power is to be Penetrated by us To Give Us A Manner Of Praise. [v.50-53]

It is the case many times that God will allow a tragedy to come upon you just to call to your attention your need of Him and salvation in Christ Jesus. Has there ever been a time in your life when there was no one that you could turn to for help except Him? Did you call upon Him then?

Did you at that time trust Him as Savior? Did you ask Him to save you?

A young Christian named George had a genuine interest in the souls of others. He often tried to win his druggist friend, Henry to the Savior, but his witness was always met with ridicule. Finally George said, “Henry, you say you have no faith in God. I don’t want to antagonize you, so I’m going to

pray that the Holy Spirit will convict you of your deep need. When the time comes, I want you to remember this Bible verse: “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee.”

One evening Henry was in his pharmacy when a young girl came in to get some medicine for her sick mother. He hurriedly mixed some drugs and put them in a bottle and gave it to her. She took it and ran off as fast as she could. But as he was putting the various vials back in place, he was hor-rified to see that he had used one containing a strong poison. He didn’t know the girl, nor where she lived. Perhaps the mother was already taking the deadly prescription. A cold sweat broke out on his forehead. Then, at his wits end, he remembered his friend’s verse: “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee.” He began praying for salvation, and also asked the Lord to help him. Suddenly the young girl re-entered the store in tears. “I ran so fast I fell and broke the bottle,” she exclaimed in distress. Greatly relieved, he gave her the correct medicine. He found the Savior

through that experience, and it is reported that from then on he lived for Christ and was a different man.

We should not wait for a time of crisis to call on the name of the Lord, but if and when crisis comes, you can be assured that He will be there and if you are His child He will see you through it. Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for

thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

You will notice that this passage says, “though I walk ‘through’ the valley of the shadow of death. He will be with us through the crisis, He will not leave us in the time of trouble.

Converted In Crisis …call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

Psalm 50:15

Our Scripture text is written to Christians, however it could apply to an unsaved person if he/she will first call upon the Lord for salvation. God does not promise, neither is He obligated to answer the prayer of an un-

saved person, except a prayer of repentance and faith in Christ, asking Him to save the soul.

Many times crisis comes in the form of a trial. God has warned us that there will be trials and temptations during this life. Even Jesus was tempted of Satan for forty days in the wilderness, but Jesus did not yield to the temptation but was victorious over it. We can rest assured that when temptation comes that God is

not the source of it. Temptation is of Satan. James 1:13-15 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted

with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

God is our shelter when the storms of life threaten us.

Jelly Jar Grace

I looked at the jar so ill-used by my boyMud filled and rocky was his jelly jar toyA great muddy mess both inside and outA once useful jar yet now - I have doubt

My son, in contrition hands me the messI don’t know the outcome I admit I feel stress

Then a thought tickles gently in the back of my mindI head to the sink to see what I can find

Some suds and some water a sponge and some ragsI set the jar down as my head gently wags o clean up this mire,

The jar might prove useful a good scrubbing’s required.”So I scrubbed and I polished I washed the outside

Some mud disappeared but most couldn’t hideI held up the jar shiny clean from without

“There! It is spotless.” my son expressed doubt“Why, I washed and I scrubbed

I shined and I cleaned. If the jar is polluted

You must tell what you mean.”I was told that the vessel

Once useful and cleanHeld tightly to grimeTo my son plainly seen“I washed the exteriorIs that not enough?”

Apparently notAs my boy called my bluff

The jar - like our livesIs filled with corruption

Cleaning only the outsideIn the end finds destruction

A lesson was learnedWith my son by my side

Don’t just clean the surfaceDeep clean the inside

For the glass - crystal clearRevealing muck deep withinRepresents our rebellion

The muck is our sinWe then spoke of Jesus

And His soul-cleansing powerHe’s ready to forgive

Right this minute, this hourNext time, when we slip

Our hearts stained in the raceLet’s remember the lesson

Of jelly jar grace

Happy Birthday In Heaven I thought of you with love today but that is nothing new I thought about you yesterday and days before that too,

I think of you in silence I often speak your name All I have are memories and your picture in a frame

Your memory is my keepsake with which I’ll never part God has you in His keeping I have you in my heart.

Though it would be your birthday here on earthI know that you are celebrating it in heaven.

God chose to take you home but One day I will be there with you to celebrate too.

In Memory Of Cash Cagle’s Birthday March 18thFrom His Wife Jeanet te Cagle

THERE’S SOMETHING MY FAMILY SHOULD KNOW

God reached down his loving hand and chose to lead you awayFor us left here without you, it was so heart breaking.

For God saw you suffering and wanted to set you freeHe said, My child you’ll suffer no more, if you come to live with me

Without hesitation, you said, I’ll goBut first, let me take a second God, for “There’s something my

family should know”

God said My child please talk to them and tell them what’s in your heart

Then I will take your graceful hand, and you and I shall part

You said, I love each one of you with everything that I amBut now my time on earth is done, and I must trust in him

Cry not for me dear family, keep a smile upon your face Remember, I’ll be in Heaven, a beautiful and loving place

I’m not afraid, and I’ll be at peaceFor my sickness and pain I know will cease

And When I take my journey home and get to Heaven’s doorI’ll be forever happy, and tears I’ll shed no more

I’ll take my place in Heaven, and I’ll stand right by your sidePlease tell me what your weakness is, in me you can confide

I’ll give you love and all my strength whenever you’re in need I’ll not be just your Husband or Father, for an Angel I will be

For when I chose to take God’s hand, He chose to set me free

HE IS THE GREAT “I AM”

Psalm 61Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of

thy wings. Selah. For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name. Thou wilt prolong the king’s life: and his years as many generations. He shall abide

before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him. So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.

Not Growing Old

They say that I am growing old,I’ve heard them tell it times untold

In language plain and bold -But I’m not growing old.

This frail old shell in which I dwellIs growing old, I know full well,

But I’m not growing old!

What if my hair is turning gray?Gray hair is honorable, they say.

What if my eyesight’s growing dim?I still can see to follow Him

Who sacrificed His life for meThere on the Cross at Calvary!

What should I care if Time’s old plowHas dug its furrows in my brow?

Another house, not made with hand,Awaits me in the Glory Land.

My hearing may not be as keenAs in the past it might have been,

Still I can hear my Saviour say,“Come, faltering child, this is the way!”

The outward man, do what I canTo lengthen out this life’s short span,

Shall perish and return to dust,As everything in nature must.

But the inward man, the Scriptures say,Is growing stronger every day! Then how can I be growing old?

I’m safe within my Saviour’s fold.E’er long my soul shall fly awayAnd leave this tenement of clay!

This robe of flesh I’ll drop and riseTo seize the everlasting prize!

I’ll meet you on the streets of goldAnd prove that I’m not growing old!

God Speaks Quietly

Have you ever heard a quiet voice deep down within your being,A voice so soft, still, and calm, it stops and sends fear fleeing? It comes in times of trouble, when things appear most grim.

Other times it comes for no other reason than to let us know it comes from Him. God tells us things so simply stated,it’s hard to misunderstand. Yet the things He speaks go

against the flesh, but exposes His loving hand. He sometimes gives us answers, for which we desperately seek. Other times, He gives the words He wants us to earnestly speak. Have you

ever been utterly confusednot knowing which way to go, Then suddenly the choice becomes

so clear, you wonder how you didn’t know? Has there ever arisen a crisis,

leaving you anxious with an unresolved need; Only to have things suddenly go into reverse and from the crisis you’re freed?

Not only does God speak to us in His still small voice,He actively moves to accomplish His will; giving us reason to

rejoice. That soft calm voice has given me peace, each time I’ve been overwhelmed by fear. When I listen closely, He always speaks

the exact words I need to hear. And when I find myself in trouble,

He always hears my unspoken plea. He comes in and sets things right, and His perfect will I’m able to see. I’m in a crisis as I sit and write this, and it’s totally beyond my control. The circumstances are overwhelming. Yet, there’s peace inside my

soul. No matter what the outcome, there’s one thing I’m certain of - I’ve heard the quiet voice of God, assuring me of

His love.

You Have Gone On and I Remain

I have asked God, always, to let me remainso that I could take care of you,

but now that you’ve gone on to be with Himmy life is empty, lonely, and blue.

The light that you gave lit up my life, made living joyful with praise

to the Lord that you worshipped and prayer-fully served

to the very end of your days.

Together our Lord blessed us so much,He used you to make my life whole.

I thank my dear Savior He bestowed us with favor

and forgave and redeemed our lost souls.

I know you await by the River of Life,longing and looking for me;

Dear one, I’ll come when God calls me homeand be eternally united with thee.

We will sit at His feet, in fellowship sweet,giving worship and praise to His name;

For it was Jesus our Lord, fulfilling God’s Word,

Who saved us, resolving our blame.

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me

When tomorrow starts without me, and I’m not there to see;If the sun should rise and find your eyes, all filled with tears for me;

I wish so much you wouldn’t cry, the way you did today, while thinking of the many things, we did get to say.I know how much you love me, as much as I love you,

and each time that you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too;But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand,

and said my place was ready, in heaven far above, and that I’d have to leave behind, all those I dearly love. But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye,

for all life, I’d always thought, I didn’t want to die.I had so much to live for, so much yet to do,

it seemed almost impossible, that I was leaving you.I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad,I thought of all the love we shared, and all the fun we had.

If I could relive yesterday, just even for awhile,I’d say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized, that this could never be,for emptiness and memories, would take the place of me.

And when I thought of worldly things, I might miss come tomorrow,I thought of you, and when I did, my heart was filled with sorrow.

But when I walked through heaven’s gates, I felt so much at home. When God looked down and smiled at me, from His great golden throne,

He said, “This is eternity, and all I’ve promised you”.Today for life on earth is past, but here it starts anew.

I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last, and since each day’s the same day, there’s no longing for the past.

But you have been so faithful, so trusting and so true.So won’t you take my hand and share my life with me?

So when tomorrow starts without me,don’t think we’re far apart, for every time you think of me,

I’m right here, in your heart.

“The light of God surrounds us.

The love of God enfolds us.

The power of God protects us.

The presence of God watches over us.

Wherever we are God is and all is well.”

As a lot of you already know my husband Jack Surgenor went home to be with the Lord Monday February 8th. The Lord blessed him with so much peace that he was not in pain and he just went to sleep in the arms of Jesus. He left a wonderful testimony that all of us are should be as blessed to have. I miss him so much he was such a caring and loving man he loved his family and he showed that love in so many ways. I miss the little things that he did I just didn’t think to appreciate them at the time like I should have. Now I would give anything to have him here showing his love by the little things that are big things now because they are so precious when I look around and see all the things that he did. I know he is in a better place now he is at the feet of Jesus over on that beautiful shore

and one day we will be together again and then we can sing “I hope we walk the last mile together”

It’s been a long time Lord,Since You, and I have met.

But thinking back on things,There’s not even one, regret.

For You see, Lord I’m happy,For all the things You’ve done.

I never would have made it,Without You’re only Son.

If I would count my blessings,And name them, one by one.

I’d never count them all,Before the day was done.

I can’t remember all the things,That He has done for me.

But there’s one I won’t forget,That’s when He set me free.

So as I count my blessings,There is no room for doubt.I’m on my way to heaven,

I’ll leave here with a shout.

Tears How large is Your bottle Lord

Where You’ve placed all my tears? How many have I shed Lord

Down through these many years? I know there have been many

Each time when things went wrongBut knowing that You count them

Has helped me to be strong. You listened and You heardThe sound of my weepingAnd held me in Your armsSafe within Your keeping.

Sometimes when I praise YouI try to restrain their flow

But sometimes; praising You with tearsIs the only way I know.

Thank You Lord for countingEach time I shed a tear.

Thank You for drying each one,And always holding me near.

There will forever be tearsWelling in these eyes of mine,

Tears of comfort and joyKnowing I am Thine.

Don’t Worry, Let God

Why do we tend to worry about the things we cannot change?

We only need to remember that God has our lives arranged.

He knew us when we were being formed within our mother’s womb.

He planned our life ahead of time from our birth until the tomb.

He knows our problems and our fears we have to face each day.

Just trust He’ll walk beside us and know He’ll be with us all the way.

When we think we can’t get through the day and let despair set in,

Just look above and ask for the help that He’s always ready to send.

Rather than placing our trust in God, we often think we can do it alone.

This is just part of our human nature; the sin of pride as it is known.

God loves us dearly and wants to help us; He’s just a prayer away.

Let’s call upon His wonderful name; He’ll get us through our day.

I have had many days I thought I would never get through.

But when I stopped and talked to God, He said, “I’m here for you.”

When I heard His tender voice, it gave me the strength I needed.

My friends I’m here to tell you, with God you can’t be defeated.

There is no worry or problem that’s too big for our Lord to handle.

Remember that on our darkest days, His love is like a candle.

His love for us will light our way with a beam so very bright.

No matter what we have to face, God will help us win the fight.

After The Tears

There are so many things in this life, that makes our tears to fall. But we can always say to ourselves, it will get better after all!

No matter what our worries may be, we know they will soon be gone. But others will be there to take their place, until we leave here and move on!

But until then we can know, life will always give us pain. But, if we ask Jesus into our heart, You know we have Heaven to gain!We have many days filled with joy. Then just as many days of despair.

We are often telling someone, It just doesn’t seem to be fair!Just keep going and do your best, to cheer up and calm your fears.

For joy will come in the morning, When Jesus comes - that’s after the tears!Live for the Lord and be joyful While here on this earth we stay.

Jesus will come some glad morning to lift us up and take us away! We’ll live in that beautiful city where the streets are paved with gold. There it’s fully lighted by His Glory. It’s beauty has never been told!

In that place there’ll only be joy. No sorrow or pain or fears. When we get up to Heaven. That will be after the tears!

Grace, Not Works

She attended church every Sunday. She sat on the very front row.

Whenever the church doors opened,She always wanted to go.

She visited people who were sick. She gave food to those who had none. She was always the first to volunteer

for things needing to be done. She freely gave her money

to missions to spread the gospel. She was loving and kind to others. To her nothing seemed impossible. She considered herself a Christian,

as did all her other friends. She knew when she got to heaven,

God would lovingly welcome her in.On that final Judgment Day,

she was standing in front of me.She was smiling and so excited

for in heaven, she knew she would be.But when the Book of Life was opened,

and her name wasn’t written down. The smile which had once been on her face,

now instead turned into a frown. She said, “My Lord, I don’t understand

why my name You cannot find, for I have done all a Christian should do

I worked for You all this time”.He told her, “you didn’t read my word

or you would understand, that works don’t gain you eternal life

only by grace can you enter My land”.She pled her case to Jesus

But He said, “I never knew you.I offered to you the gift of life

and you were told just what to do.Through my beloved apostle Paul,

My words were given to you.You could only be saved by grace through faith

and it was a gift from Me to you.Good works alone will not save you.You cannot earn your place, you see.

You did do many good things on earthbut in your heart, you didn’t have Me.Yes, you were a member of the church,

and heaven you wanted to see.But You didn’t accept My redeeming blood

which I had shed to set you free”.He turned her away and called to me.

I was the next in line, you see.He said, “your name is written here.

Enter my gates to dwell with Me.Heavenly treasures you shall embrace, for you to enjoy throughout eternity.

For by accepting My free gift of grace, you have shown your true love for Me.”

The Toughest Job.... Pastor

Someone got upset last week with what he saidHe’d read the Scriptures, Made a point, just as he was ledMonday came and Monday went without a word of cheer

Encouragement was what he cravedBut none would come he feared

Tuesday saw some sunshine cheerful, warm and brightThen there came a waking call late into the night.

A cherished soul he knew so well held lightly to this lifeShe’d made a call but couldn’t wait and left before he arrived.

By midweek’s day the clouds rolled in still, things hadn’t gotten better the roof was dripping silent tears

And the pews were getting wetter. When Thursday cameHe’d had enough “Lord, this is too hard,

Why is this road so rough?”

Now, if he had thought the heavens would openOnly silence would answer that question of hoping.

So, he fell into bed and groaned in his soulThe church and the people their problems - their toll.

But the very next morning he was met with surpriseA searching soul was set free and had tears in their eyes.

A pastor is made of the same earthen clayAs you and as I - So would it hurt you to say.

“I appreciate you,You’re a lighthouse to me.God has used you in my lifeAnd have helped me to be

The right kind of vesselThe Master can use

To be a blessing to othersHow could I refuse.”

The moral it seemsTo this amateur prose

Is, bless your dear pastorIt means more than you know.

Jesus Steps In

When before God I humbly stand, there’ll be no one there to hold my hand,

no one telling me what to say,Just me and God face to face.

My book before God will be opened wide,

nothing I can change, or try to hide, every account have been accurately written; There the works I’ve done will speak for me,Did Gods commandments, I faithfully keep?

Now Jesus steps in as my witness, before my father, He will confess,

I am His; and truly blessed,for I have a right, to the tree of life;

step through the gates, and into the city,To live with God; throughout eternity.

KID’S CORNERBurnt Biscuits

===============

When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food fordinner every now and then. And I remember one night in

particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard dayat work.

On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad.

I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad didwas reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how myday was at school. I don’t remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that

biscuit and eat every bite!

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearingmy mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I’llnever forget what he said: “Honey, I love burned biscuits.”

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I askedhim if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in

his arms and said, “Your Momma put in a hard day at work todayand she’s real tired. And besides - a little burnt biscuit

never hurt anyone!”

You know, life is full of imperfect things and imperfectpeople. I’m not the best at hardly anything, and I forget

birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else.

What I’ve learned over the years is that learning to accepteach other’s faults - and choosing to celebrate each other’sdifferences - is one of the most important keys to creating a

healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.

And that’s my prayer for you today. That you will learn to takethe good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay themat the feet of God. Because in the end, He’s the only One who

will be able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuitisn’t a deal-breaker!

We could extend this to any relationship. In fact, understanding is the base of any relationship, be it a husband-

wife or parent-child or friendship!

“Don’t put the key to your happiness in someone else’s pocket -keep it in your own.”

God Bless You..... Now, and Always...

So Please pass me a biscuit, and yes, the burnt one will dojust fine!

FOR DADDY

We see you in pictures, you’re still so real,You’re just a phone call away.

We can’t grasp you’re gone, we just had tea,We just called you the other day.

So fast I never had a chanceTo really understand,

That day would be the last,That we would ever hold your hand.

For you we guess it was better,Your pain was over fast,

But we are left behind and we miss you,Our thoughts swirling in the past.

We hope you heard the words we spoke,We hope you knew we were there,

You weren’t alone, did you know that we loved you, Did you know that we cared? Our only hope is that one day,We will see you once again,

For you told us you asked Him to save you,To deliver you from all of your pain.

So we are resting in the peaceThat you are smiling down on us,

So long then, our dear daddy,At least we know you’re now free.

Donna, Lynda, Sandy & SherryIn loving memory of our dear father

Duct Tape or a Nail?

A man dies and goes to heaven. St. Peter meets him at the Pearly Gates and says, ‘Here’s how it works. You need 100 points to make it into heaven. You tell me all the good things you’ve done, and I give you a certain

number of points for each item, depending on how good it was. When you reach 100 points, you get in.’

‘Okay,’ the man says, ‘I was married to the same woman for 50 years and never cheated on her,

even in my heart.’ ‘That’s wonderful,’ says St. Peter, ‘that’s worth two

points!’ ‘Two points?!’ he says.

‘Well, I attended church all my life and supported its min-istry with my tithe and service.’

‘Terrific!’ says St. Peter.. ‘That’s certainly worth a point.’

‘One point!?!!’ ‘I started a soup kitchen in my city and worked in a shel-

ter for homeless veterans.’ ‘Fantastic, that’s good for two more points,’ he says.

‘ Two points!?!! ‘Exasperated, the man cries. ‘At this rate the only way

I’ll get into heaven is by the grace of God.’ ‘ Bingo ! 100 points ! Come on in!’

We often try to fix problems with WD-40 and duct tape. God did it with a nail.

AMEN...

Someone Is Praying For You

Somewhere someone’s prayingDown upon their knees

Lifting you before the ThroneWith love and gentle pleas

Asking God to give you strengthTo face another day

And when the night is darkestShine light upon your way

Somewhere someone’s kneelingTo whisper your name in prayerKnowing that you need to feel

God’s love and tender care

They intercede on your behalfBecause they love you so

Knowing that you have a needTo their Father they will go

They pray when you’re not ableTo speak a single word

What peace there is in knowingTheir prayers will be heard

They lay you on the altarAs they kneel there at His feet

Giving all your cares to HimThere at the mercy seat

Our God is always listeningTo every earnest prayer

When we look to Him for helpThe answer is always there

It’s such a comfort to knowThat someone prays for you

Placed within His loving handsThose prayers will see you through

As you kneel before the FatherThank Him for those who care

When you bow before the mercy seatWhisper their name in prayer

Psalm1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in

the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law

doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

[4] The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

[5] Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

[6] For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Dear God In Heaven - A Family’s Prayer

Dear God in Heaven aboveToday is the day that You took someone we love

We know that we need not worryBecause Your there with him with open arms

Dear God in Heaven aboveThe man that stands before You was deeply loved

Although it seems like it is the endNow the memories of him shall begin

Dear God in Heaven aboveWe are here today with sorrow and grief

But when we look up toward Heaven there will be a sence of reliefBecause the man before You is in a better place

Today is not a day of death, but rebirthBecause he lived a long and healthy life here on earth

So on this day we will look back no moreBecause on this day we know he’s with You, Jesus Christ our Lord

The man that has left us he will truly be missedFor all that knew him we know that we were blessed

Dear God in Heaven aboveThe man that I refer to was a husband, father, brother, grandfather and

dear friendFor when our time comes we know that we will see him again

Dear God in Heaven aboveWe pray that You will guide us to see this through

Hold us and keep us safe in all that we do

Enough

Many things in this old worldAre so corrupt today

With prisons overflowingAnd children gone astray.

The word of

is quite taboo

It brings our country shameTo seek Him in a public placeWe dare not speak His name.

He won’t be found in classroomsIt would be found, a sin

To let our small ones gather roundAnd offer praise to Him.

They’ve taken God from every bookAnd from our government

The laws that made our country strongAre crooked, vile and bent.I only pray, it’s not too late

To turn it all aroundEtch the Bible in the hearts

Of everyone in town. For if we wait and tarry on

And go about our wayGod will finally shout “enough”

The trumpet then will play.We will not find sweet mercy

When we look to Him for graceWe will not see contentment When we gaze upon His face. We’ll know His wrath and fury

With our backs against the wallHe’ll say, “I never knew you.”

The curtain then will fall.

Psalm 23

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:

he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of

righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear

no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou

anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I

will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
