Welcome ASL 1--• Doorbuster- please copy all notes below:
• Rubric- Plates Exam (SN Unit 8 Describing People)• 25%- drawing (if you draw yourself, only positive things on it; otherwise,
draw a made-up person or a celebrity) • -not graded on artistic skill- but do more than stick figures, and add color• -draw at least 14 items from Unit 8- and label them (see example)• 75% signing to the class- sign who it is (MAN, WOMAN, BOY, GIRL…); then
sign all 14 items in your picture.
• You will practice with the substitute, and turn it in to her- present to Dr. Weast after I return.
• Get a copy of the handout, also instructions are online.
• Finished? Copy the signs to the right (or sign with someone)---
ASL 1-
• Doorbuster- 10 min.• View Rubric video- 3 min.• Activity: Design Plates (individual), turn in to
substitute- rest of class• Ticket Out- last 5 min.

your 10-year reunion, retirement, or death• *30% boxes; 30% gloss; 40% signed• *Boxes: 20 or more, hand drawn & colored (unless detailed
artwork/shading)• *Each box must contain a time/date/year (written at the top of the
box), and a drawing of a Life Event or Disaster new sign. Turn these in to the substitute.

Welcome ASL 3• Doorbuster: Find 5--- stand up, find five people, ask 5
questions, and answer 5 questions– what about something you have not signed during “Find 5” before???
• Activities: – UT ASL Online Unit 18- finish all modules, help each other- do you
understand it? Copy the “catch” or “pass” at the end when they repeat.
– UT ASL Online Unit 19 – If time, watch and see- do you understand the stories? Self-assess- if easy, great. If too fast, I can help when we return. (if no time, do this another day when done early with work).
