CAMPAIGN MANIFESTOS

The list of candidates required to be circulated by Election Regulation 408 is containedin this document. It contains a list of candidates standing for the posts of

LGBT open place officer LGBT Womens place officer

plus a list of candidates and their nominators.

As one of the purposes for which the list of candidates is published is to enableobjections to eligibility to be submitted, it will be clear that the candidates listed maynot be properly qualified or validly nominated. It should be borne in mind that this

document has to be prepared before the Elections Committee can decide questionsrelating to qualifications of candidates and the validity of the nominations. Theappearance of a candidates name in this document does not therefore mean thathe/she is duly qualified or validly nominated. The Elections Committee will report onany matters arising in this connection in due course.

Under Election Regulation 409, objections to the eligibility of candidates must bereceived before 1.00pm, Friday 27th March 2009. Such objections should be made byletter addressed to: The Chairperson, Elections Committee, c/o Events Office, NationalUnion of Students, 2nd Floor, Centro 3, 19 Mandela Street, London NW1 0DU. Eachletter must state the name of the constituent member by which the objection is made.

Full details of the reasons for the objection should be given the number of the clausein the Constitution or Election Regulation with which it is alleged the candidate doesnot comply and the reason why he/she does not comply with it is particularised.Organisations objecting to the eligibility of more than one candidate are asked to writea separate letter in respect of each candidate.
