GUIDELINES ON THE 2012 SEARCH FOR

MOST CHILD-FRIENDLY BARANGAY

The Annual Search for the Most Child-Friendly Barangay aims to promote the right of every child to survival, development, protection and participation in the barangay level. Specifically, it aims to:

• Strengthen participation of the barangays in the City Government projects and activities;

• Promote child friendliness and awareness of children’s rights in every barangay;

• Provide recognition to the barangays that excel in the program of child welfare, protection, development and participation;

• Inspire barangays to formulate and implement new programs and services for children, and come up with best practices that can be duplicated by other barangays;

Objectives of the Search:

All33 BARANGAYS

are encouraged to join the Search

The 33 barangays shall accomplish and submit the following:

• The Entry Form signed by the BCPC Chairman (as provided)

• Accomplished Self- Assessment Checklist (as provided)

• Barangay Socio-Economic Profile (Short Narrative Report)• History and Geographical Description

• Demographic Profile

• Description of City

• Children Situationer• Total Population of Children (disaggregated by sex and by

single-age)

• Statistical Data

• Programs and Services for Children

• Threats/Issues on Children

• Others – listing of other innovative PPAs for Children

• Resolution/Ordinance creating BCPC

HOW TO JOIN?

• Minutes of the Regular Meetings of BCPC (2011 and 1st and 2nd

Quarters of 2012

• Resolutions/Ordinances passed related to BCPC and children• BCPC Work and Financial Plan for Children (2011 & 2012)

• BCPC Accomplishment Reports 2011 and 1st and 2nd Quarter of 2012

• Barangay and SK Annual Investment Plan 2011 and 2012

• Barangay and SK Accomplishment Reports 2011 and 1st and 2nd Quarters of 2012

• State of the Children Report (separate or included in the SOBA)

• List of Facilities for Children

• Other Documented Children-Related Activities 2011 and 1st and 2nd Quarters of 2012

HOW TO JOIN?

Prizes•A SEAL shall be installed to the barangay which will receive the Most Child-Friendly Award

•The Top 3 winners shall be awarded with trophies and cash prizes:

1st Place – P100,000

2nd Place – P 75,000

3rd Place – P 50,000
