I have done this to create a strong alternative theme all throughout my magazine so it is clear to consumers what genre it is and would appeal to alternative fans. I used a very relaxed and casual image of my feature artist. I did this because my target audience are younger therefore I wanted my magazine to appear laid back and informal as if the magazine came across too seriously they may not find it as interesting or be able to relate and connect with it. I also asked my actors to wear modern and dark clothing so that my band would appear current and up to date therefore my target audience would aspire to them and want to buy the magazine. I think the relaxed shot is also more intimate and would make the readers feel as if they can relate to the band much more and will want to read about what they have to say. Bold/ bright – this is representative of my cover artist as the band are very out there and bold. I wanted boldness to be a strong theme in my magazine as I want my magazine to stand out and be seen as different and individual to consumers.

My feature artists are represented in various ways in my magazine:

For colour with my feature artist I purposely stuck to the same themes of reds/burgundy and black to stick with the alternative theme of the magazine and show that they are an alternative band.

I think the relaxed shot is also more intimate and would make the readers feel as if they can relate to the band much more and will want to read about what they have to say.Bold/ bright – this is representative of my cover artist as the band are very out there and bold. I wanted boldness to be a strong theme in my magazine as I want my magazine to stand out and be seen as different and individual to consumers.

Again all of the images I used were very laid back and casual as I wanted to create an image of my feature artists being very laid back and effortlessly cool as this would be the type of thing that my readers would admire and aspire to. On my double page spread I also used a picture of the band doing a humorous twist on the iconic Beatles’Abbey Road cover, showing that they are a band that looks to older music for inspiration but with a modern and fun twist – like the magazine!

I continued to use dark and alternative colours with my artists not only to follow a house style but it also further reiterates my point that they are an alternative band.

I also used a very bold title for my main title on the article to show that the band are very out-there. Also, the stark white against the black represents how my band stand out and are different to other bands. The capital letters also show that they are loud and grabs the attention of the reader and makes them think it is something that they must read
